By Ryan Schuhler
Purpose of the Book To describe the current world and explain the current
political and economical conditions of all the different countries.
Explain the importance of the second world and the effects of globalization.
Describe the effects of the three world superpowers, the EU, the U.S., and China, on the rest of the world.
Show the standings in the current race to win the second world.
Europe Europe is a powerful and influential group of
countries.
The EU has become a powerful super state and controls and dominates much of the world economy and politics.
Europe keeps growing and expanding its influence so as to avoid being overpowered or losing control over the land it controls.
Central Asia Central Asia has been known for and as the Silk Road.
The country that can control the trade in this area of the world holds most of the dominant power for these nations, which is now China.
This area is desired for its oil and is an important place for the world powers to control in order to have stability and success.
The Americas The United States has been the dominating force in
both North and South America.
The Monroe Doctrine did much to influence the idea of preventing any foreign powers to have control in Latin America.
Countries like Columbia have been cooperative with the U.S., whereas countries like Brazil have sometimes been problimatic.
The Middle East The Arab lands have gone through some changes and
chaos, but order is finally arising.
Oil wealth, mass media, shared troubles, an oppression from the West have created a lack of trust of the U.S.
The battle for control is being fought by the Arabism and Islamism.
Asia China is the prevailing power in the East.
China is in the most populous and economically dynamic location in the world.
Places like Malaysia and Indonesia struggle, and sometimes appear hopeless under the power of China.
Anti-Americanism is rabid in the East, where the EU and China rule supreme.
