Establishing Shot
Camera Shots
• This image is capturing a scene of a house.
• It gives the viewers information about where the scene is set.
Wide Shot
• This is an image of my whole garden.
• The shot is wide and shows a large variety of information. It is used to show something as a whole.
Long Shot
• This is long shot picture of a males full length body.• The purpose of this shot is to frame a character or
subject of their whole body.
Mid/Medium Shot
• This image is the shot of a plate and glasses taken at its mid point.
• The aim of this shot is frame a subject or character of its torso.
Close-Up Shot• The picture is taken close-up of a
plate and cutlery.• The aim of this shot is to capture a
particular part of the subject and add/give it detail.
Extreme Close-Up Shot
• This is an extreme close up shot of three glasses.
• The aim of this shot to show the depth and detail of an object.
Point Of View
• This is an point of view shot of me opening a door.
• The purpose of this shot is to capture the character’s perspective.
Two Shot
• This is image captures my mum and aunt conversing.
• The aim of this shot is to show two people interacting.
Overhead Shot
• This shot is a picture taken overhead of my nephew.
• The purpose of this shot is to capture an image above a character or object.
Low Angle
Camera Angles
• This is a picture taken at a low angle.
• The aim of this angle is to portray an object as bigger or superior.
High Angle
• This is a picture taken at high angle of my brother.
• The purpose of this angle is to make a subject look smaller or vunerable.
Canted Or Oblique Angle
• This is a canted angle picture taken of my brother.
• The aim of this angle to allow the photo to look skewed or tilted.
Pan
Camera Movement
•These snapshots portray the camera moving left to right.•The purpose of this camera movement is to show when the camera pivots horizontally from left to right, or the other direction.
Tilt
•These snapshots show the camera tilt from up to the middle to the bottom(floor.)•The aim of this is show when the camera pivots vertically from top to bottom.
Track
•These snapshots are tracking shots of my back garden.•The aim of this is to demonstrate an object or character without a pivot.
Zoom
•Theses snapshots depict the movement of the camera zooming into a picture. •The purpose of this camera movement is to convey the object in detail.
Reverse Zoom
•These snapshots are the movement reversing zooming on a framed picture.•The purpose of this is show the movement of a object or character being revealed.
Balance
•This image is arranged to be balanced in shape.•The aim of this is to balance the appearance of objects in the picture.
Symmetry
•This image is captured in line of symmetry.•The aim of this movement is to show the balance of objects on two sides.
Asymmetry
•This picture is photographs organised unevenly. •The purpose of this is to show the unbalance/difference on both sides.
Rule Of Thirds
•This is the view from my window.•The aim of this camera movement is to dived the image into nine equal sections in order to separate the sky from the houses and the ground.
Depth Of Field•This image shows only my face in focus.•The purpose of this camera movement is to show only a small part in focus.
Deep Focus
•This image is capturing a painting, a water cooler, curtains, a cream background, as well as a floral background.•The aim of this camera movement is to convey the foreground, middle ground and background within focus.
