• The Knowledge Bank (K-Bank) is a repository where one can access various assets for day-to-day references and in daily activities.

• The assets in K-Bank are useful to audience which would include resources working in multi-disciplinary functional units, such as a development team and a sales team simultaneously.

• Each asset type provides value-add information and is easily available in K-Bank.

• The K-Bank is constantly updated based on the continuous feedback and inputs received.

• All contributions are subject to stringent reviews and need to follow the necessary approval processes prior to being published as an asset in K-Bank.

• Assets in K-bank are "public" in nature, in the sense that they are available for all users.

Asset for the day Program

DescriptionProject/Context:• Account was getting low download and feedback for the Knowmax Assets from associates.

• There was lack of awareness in the account, about the assets created by the team members of the account.

Purpose:

• To increase the download and feedback for the Knowmax Assets from associates.

• To increase the awareness in the account, about the assets created by the team members of the account

How TCS did itProcess Adopted

• They connected the Project Managers and Leads in the account to get the ideas and support on improving the KM activities in the account.

• After meetings with them, they gathered ideas, brainstormed and formulated and launched the “Asset for the Day” program.

Following are the steps followed in this program:• The KOs for the account select an asset, created by one of the associates of the account, for this

program• A session is organized for the whole account, in which the author presents his/her asset to all the

associates.• His/her presentation is followed by a Question and Answer session, in which the associates get their

queries resolved about the asset.• There is also a discussion, on how the asset can be implemented in other teams.• Immediately after the presentation session, a mailer is sent to the account by the KO, with the subject

“Asset for the Day

Process Adopted

• This mailer contains the following details :Name of the AssetAuthor name, EMP id, email id, team nameLink to the Asset in Knowmax

• All the leads are asked to ensure, that all their team members download the asset, go through it and provide the feedback on the same in the system by EOD, same day.

• A meeting with the Leads was already done before launching the program, letting them know that the responsibility of getting the asset downloaded and rated by their team members lies with them.

Highlights

• This program helps the associates to understand the asset and then give the feedback for the same.• Direct interaction with the author.• On the spot query resolution and implementation discussion.• This program is organized, biweekly or as suitable.

How this may be adapted elsewhere

Due to the generic nature of the problem, this solution can be easily replicated to other units also.
