Part A. The current Assessment Plan was last revised __2014__ I. Student Learning Objectives (SLO's)
1. Demonstrate understanding of the concepts and theories underlying the operation of a business. 2. Apply critical thinking skills necessary in the functional area of accounting. 3. Demonstrate understanding and application of core competencies in the functional area of
accounting. 4. Demonstrate significant improvement from Peregrine pre-test to post-test results. 5. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively through written media.
Have any of the SLO's changed since last year? Yes/No Learning objective four changed due to a change in assessment systems and tools from CAAP and MFT to Peregrine. II. Student Learning Outcomes
1. For objective one, 90% of students will show improvement in their understanding of business in entrance pre-test scores to exit post-test scores within Introduction to Business and Business Policy respectively.
2. For objective two, 90% of students will score above the 50th percentile of the accounting functional area on the Peregrine post-test.
3. For objective three, 90% of students will score above 50% of the aggregate average in the functional area of accounting.
4. For objective four, 50% of students will pass the Peregrine post-test with a grade of 70% or better.
5. For objective five, over 90% of students successfully complete writing intensive courses. III. Assessment Instruments
1. Assignments and projects are administered within the Introduction of Business and Business Policy courses.
2. Peregrine pre and post-tests are administered by the members of faculty who instruct the courses.
3. The Peregrine post-test is administered within the capstone course (Business Policy). 4. The Peregrine post-test constitutes 20% of the capstone course. This applies to departmental

2. Out of the 113 students who completed the Peregrine post-test during the assessment year, 85% scored at or above the 50th percentile. This means that the desired results have been met.
3. Out of 113 students who completed the Peregrine post-test 50% scored 90% of the aggregate average in the functional area of accounting.
4. Accounting competencies are embedded in the Business Policy (BAD 490) capstone course.
The embedded Peregrine post-test assesses these competencies and usually adds rigor to the course. Student performance in the course has remained stable. Out of the 113students who completed the Peregrine post-test during the assessment year, 90% scored a “C” or higher. This equates to about 20% of the course grade or better.

The responsible individual for each program assessment is identified within the contact row.

Actions Proposed or Taken Based on the Lincoln University assessment committee and the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) recommendations, the department has adopted Peregrine as their assessment system provider. This allows the department to include external benchmarking illustrated by the student learning assessment data provided in Peregrine pre and post-tests. In the past, we have concentrated on internal benchmarking making MFT scores worth 20% of the capstone course. Since Peregrine provides more national data, it only makes sense that we use it to determine student performance at the national level. Department Head’s Response to Assessment Committee’s Recommendations With direction from the Department Head, the Department of Business has added external benchmarking using Peregrine scores. The Department Head was instrumental in developing the proposal that secured the funding to contract with Peregrine for an improved assessment system. The department has also applied all the recommendations from the University Assessment Committee.

1. For objective one, 100% of students will demonstrate mastery in their understanding of business in entrance pre-test scores to exit post-test scores within International Business and Business Strategy respectively.
2. For objective two, 100% of students will score above the 80th percentile of the business administration functional area on the Peregrine post-test.
3. For objective three, 100% of students will score above 90% of the aggregate scores in the functional area of business administration.
4. For objective four, 100% of students will pass the Peregrine post-test with a grade of 80% or better.
5. For objective five, over 80% of students successfully demonstrate mastery level writing skills.
III. Assessment Instruments
1. Assignments and projects are administered within the International Business and Business Strategy courses.
2. Peregrine pre and post-tests are administered by the members of faculty who instruct the courses.
3. The Peregrine post-test is administered within the capstone course (Business Strategy). 4. The Peregrine post-test constitutes 20% of the capstone course. 5. Writing assignments and projects are administered throughout the MBA curriculum.

course (International Business) and the capstone course (Business Strategy) by the course instructors.

Part B. Assessment Results -
1. All enrolled graduate students complete International Business and Business Strategy courses every year. Over 90 percent of the students pass courses with a “B” of better. The department has achieved and maintained desired results.
2. Out of the 18 students who completed the Peregrine post-test during the assessment year, 100% scored at or above the 85th percentile. This means that the desired results have been met.
3. Out of 18 students who completed the Peregrine post-test 50% scored above the aggregate average in the functional area of business administration.
4. Business administration competencies are embedded in the Business Strategy capstone course.
The Peregrine post-test assesses these competencies and adds rigor to the course. Student performance in the course has remained stable. Out of the 18 students who completed the Peregrine post-test during the assessment year, 100% scored a “B” or better.
5. All enrolled students complete writing assignments and projects in almost every required course every year. Over 90% of students pass the courses with a “B” or better. The department has achieved and maintained desired results.
Sharing Assessment Results The assessment report was put together by various department subcommittees. The Department Head shared assessment committee recommendations with department faculty and subcommittees. Assessment reports were discussed at various department meetings. Assessment results are shared with faculty and posted on the university L-drive. These reports are also used as part of the data we collect for regional and specialized accreditation. The responsible individual for each program assessment is identified within the contact row.

Actions Proposed or Taken Based on the Lincoln University Assessment Committee and the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) recommendations, the department has adopted Peregrine as their assessment system provider. This allows the department to include external benchmarking illustrated by the student learning assessment data provided in Peregrine pre and post-tests. In the past, we have concentrated on internal benchmarking making MFT scores worth 20% of the capstone course. Since Peregrine provides more national data, it only makes sense that we use it to determine student performance at the national level. Department Head’s Response to Assessment Committee’s Recommendations With direction from the Department Head, the Department of Business has added external benchmarking using Peregrine scores. The Department Head was instrumental in developing the proposal that secured the funding to contract with Peregrine for an improved assessment system. The department has also applied all the recommendations from the Lincoln University Assessment Committee.
