MSU Assay Development and Drug Repurposing Core

• To provide equipment and expertise for high-throughput screening techniques to MSU researchers

• To provide MSU researchers with access to cost-effective chemical library screening for identification of molecules to further interrogate particular biological processes or potential leads for drug development (or drug repurposing)

• To promote a training environment that will expose students to the techniques of high-throughput assay design, development, and HTS screen execution

• To provide assistance and/or the generation of preliminary data for grant/funding opportunities

Multidrop 384 Reagent Dispenser

• Peristaltic pump based cassette dispenser • Dispense 96- and 384-well plates• 5 to 395 mL volume range (5 mL

increments)

EL406 Microplate Washer Dispenser

• Peristaltic pump based cassette dispenser

• 1 mL and 5 mL cassettes• 96-well washer module• Syringe pumps dispensers• Variable dispense and

aspiration rates

Biomek FX Laboratory Automation Workstation• Automated/programmable robotic dual arm

system with 96-multichannel pipettor and Span-8 pipettor (8 individually controlled channels)

• Equipped with 384-pin tool• Small volume plate to plate transfers (i.e. compound plate to assay plate)• Volume range - 100 nL to 200 nL

Cytation 3 Cell Imaging Reader

Equipment – Readers

• Automated digital microscopy• Objectives: 4x and 20x (currently available)• Brightfield, 365 nm, 465 nm, 590 nm• Temperature and CO2/O2 control

Synergy Neo Multi-mode Reader• Combines filter-based optical system and monochromator optics,

providing both excellent performance and assay versatility• Detection modes: Fluorescence, time-resolved fluorescence,

fluorescence polarization, Alpha, luminescence, UV-visible absorbance

• Multi-plate stacker (30 plates)

Functional Drug Screening System FDSS/µCELL• Kinetic plate reader with an

integrated dispensing head and imaging-based detector

• High-speed digital CCD camera• 0.5 s to 100 s/data point • 480 nm /540 nm• 96- or 384-well compatible• Ca2+, cAMP, membrane

potential, etc.
