We’re hurtling toward the holiday season and the gaming developers show no signs of slowing down on the new releases. In November, we have new Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty and Star Wars titles. The Switch fan base is growing and library patrons will be delighted to see plenty of new titles in that format. All in all, it’s been a budget-busting fall for gaming collection development. You may be getting questions about the new Xbox One X platform. These consoles are hitting retailers this month. Luckily for your patrons, you’re already Xbox One X-savvy, even if you weren’t aware of that little fact. The Xbox One X titles are simply Xbox One titles that are enhanced with features like higher resolution, faster frame rates and improved graphics. Some of the Xbox One X titles include Forza 7, Assassin’s Creed: Origins, FIFA 18, and Madden NFL 18. These games run just fine on the current Xbox One systems, but those with the newest technology will be happy to see Xbox One X enhanced titles on library shelves. As always, I’d like to remind anyone with a fiscal year end of December 31 to coordinate with me regarding end of year shipments.
