Foundations & Piling

Aspin’s portfolio of foundations, have been installed on a vast array of projects, often in

challenging environments.

We deliver projects utilising our own operated and managed specialist adapted road rail

vehicles and attachments. These machines are capable of delivering substructure and

superstructure solutions to effectively fulfil our client requirements.

Our design and construction methods are always current and best practice based on the

project requirements, geotechnical and environmental conditions.

Civil Engineering

With extensive experience of working in heavy civils, we have been able to expand our capability

for short notice mobilisation to site to deal with any situation.

Specialising in recycled driven steel tube piles, we have been able to reduce our carbon footprint

and spoil waste removal.

We provide a range of services to support flood alleviation and civils projects including:

l Sheet piling, cofferdams and erosion protection

l Embankment stabilisation

l Bulk excavation

l Culvert installation

l Water attenuation

l Reinforced concrete works

l Temporary bridge installations and hire

We offer a wide variety of innovative design solutions, for any site conditions, for modular or

bespoke steel frame projects, specialising in inner city and brownfield developments and can

offer foundation solutions with little or no muck away.

Our Inspections and Investigation teams carry out works in many diverse situations, providing

informative geological analysis, full structural assessment and lifecycle management:

Inspections & Investigations

Ground InvestigationWe are aware of the increasing proportion of

developments that require the use of

brownfield sites and the access challenges

these sites can face. As a result, we think it is

important to carry out correct and adequate

investigations covering all areas which can, in

the long term, have major cost savings during

the construction phase.

Inspections & SurveysWe ensure that our clients are provided with

an accurate and meaningful assessment of

the asset condition in order to develop stock

management strategies.

Special InspectionsPost-tensioned structures show little or no

signs of distress despite holding severe

defects, due to this, inspection methods need

to be more vigorous. As post-tensioned cables

are within the concrete, intrusive methods of

inspection are necessary. If not reinstated

properly these locations can be a source of

further deterioration. Destructive methods

could also further weaken an already highly

stressed structure.

Non-Destructive TestingThe first step to a successful repair is a

correct and meaningful diagnosis. This is

reached by a comprehensive investigation and

methodical testing regime. Our method

operates in accordance with approved testing

standards and technical procedures ensuring

consistent, accurate recording and testing.

Design AssessmentsFull structural assessments consist of capacity

assessment, strengthening and design stages,

including capacity assessment, strengthening

refurbishment and rehabilitation and design.

efficient designs. Led by Chartered Civil, Structural and Geotechnical Engineers, we use the

latest technology to help us deliver projects in many sectors for a variety of clients including

developers, contractors and of course our own construction teams. Our experience and

culture drives us to deliver designs that are not only compliant, but also suit your project’s

unique constraints including the site, available plant and preferred working methods.

Our services:

l Structural surveys

l Site surveys including ground investigation

l Geo-environmental investigations

l Flood risk assessments

l Foundation and retaining wall design

l Slope stability including soil nails / rock anchors

l Railway track-bed stabilisation

Plant & Transport

We own, manage and operate a fleet of piling rigs, tracked excavators and specialist adapted

Road Rail Vehicles and attachments, all with appropriate trailers allowing them to be

effectively utilised on road or rail, and all of which are capable of delivering substructure and

superstructure solutions.

With our own fleet of low loader and hi-ab lorries we can support the transportation of plant

and equipment to and from site. Together with our FORS Accreditation, clients can be

assured that our working practices, policies and procedures in four key areas: management,

vehicles, drivers and operations signify that we deliver a first class service.

We are accredited with our own POS licence that not only recognises the experience we
