• Project is officially opened with UL Environment

• Introductory phone call and email from Environmental Project Manager (EPM)

• Project kick-off call with your project team, EPM and ULE auditors

• Receive from EPM: Project plan letter and SPC certification results spreadsheet

• Determine delivery and communication plan for the project, options include:

• Regularly scheduled phone calls and document review cycles (i.e. every 1 or 2 weeks)

• Collect and submit documents in bulk to ULE team, then ULE auditor arrives on-site to review documents and complete on-site audit

Project Kick-Off

(2 days)

• ULE team (i.e. EPM and ULE auditor) continuously completes review of documents submitted to confirm compliance with standard

• ULE team to update SPC certification results spreadsheet and provide status updates

• Confirm on-site audit plan

Desktop Certification

(3-4 weeks)

• Pre-audit call for each manufacturing location being audited (optional)

• On-Site audit of manufacturing location(s)

• Received completed on-site audit form via ULE team in the SPC certification results spreadsheet

On-Site Audit

(1 day)

• Receive and review draft SPC letter report and product certificate

• Discuss renewal services and recertification plan

• Publish product(s) on UL Environment database valid for 3 years

• Receive final SPC letter report, product certificate, SPC mark

Product Certification

(2-3 days)

SPC certification results spreadsheet includes detailed document request for each

criteria, summary of mandatory/points achievements, and on-site audit questions.

• Complete and submit to EPM an annual review declaration to identify any changes over the past 12 months

• Submit requested supporting documents to EPM to confirm compliance with the sustainability standard

• Review audit plan

Desktop Confirmation

• Pre-audit call for each manufacturing location being audited (optional)

• On-Site audit of manufacturing location(s) with ULE auditor

• Received completed on-site audit form via ULE team in the SPC certification results spreadsheet

On-Site Audit

• Receive final SPC annual review letter report • Discuss renewal services and recertification plan • Continue using SPC mark
