The 2001 Edition of the Code contains both U.S. Customary and SI units. In allcases, the U.S. Customary units are the standard and SI units are provided for theconvenience of the user.

SUMMARY OF CHANGES

The 2001 Edition of this Code contains revisions in addition to the 1998 Edition with 1999and 2000 Addenda. The revisions are identified with the designation 01 in the margin and,as described in the Foreword, become mandatory six months after the publication date of the2001 Edition. To invoke these revisions before their mandatory date, use the designation“2001 Edition” in documentation required by this Code. If you choose not to invoke theserevisions before their mandatory date, use the designation “1998 Edition through the 2000Addenda” in documentation required by this Code.
