1. Introduction For the use of one or more ASK-300 printers with order-it and the print-processor a special USB port
printer driver must be installed. The procedure is different depending upon whether a 32 Bit or a 64
Bit Windows 7 system is in use.
2. Installation of the FUJIFILM USB port (ASK-300) by using ASKUSBset
(Windows 7, 32 Bit) With a Windows 7 32 Bit system the procedure is simple and can be carried out in a short time.
Proceed as follows:
A) Attach at least one ASK-300 printer to the kiosk system and switch it on.
B) Invoke the Windows Explorer, navigate to the
\ASK-300\Windows 7\32-Bit
directory, and invoke the ASKUSBSet.exe tool.
Note that this tool will not display any messages. If an ASK-300 printer is attached and running it
should be visible in the device manager.
3. Manual Installation of the FUJIFILM USB port (ASK-300) (Windows 7, 64 Bit) With a Windows 7 64 Bit system the driver must be manually installed for every attached ASK-300
printer. Proceed as follows:
A) Attach all available ASK-300 printers to the kiosk system and switch them on.
B) Press simultaneously the [Windows] keys and the [R] key. As a result a small window is displayed.
Now, insert the string “devmgmt.msc” into the ‘Open’ text box and click [OK].

C) As a result the Computer Management console is shown with the ‘Device Manager’ item
selected. Continue by expanding the ‘Universal Serial Bus controllers’ item at the end of the
device list.
D) Now select the ‘USB Printing Support’ item and perform a right click.

E) As a result a pop up list box is shown. Continue by clicking the ‘Update Driver Software’ item.
F) A wizard window is displayed now. Click the ‘Browse my computer for driver software’ item.

G) Then, click the ‘Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer’ item.
H) At this stage, it is important to click the [Have Disk…] button. Do not click the [Next] button.
I) Browse to the ‘ASK-300\Windows 7\64-Bit’ directory of CD 3 (Resources) and click [OK].

J) Continue by clicking the [Next] button.
K) Since the driver is not digitally signed it is necessary to confirm its installation by clicking [Install
this driver anyway].

M) After some seconds the driver installation should be successfully complete.
N) You can check the result of the driver installation by launching once again the device manager as
described in step B). A new device named ‘FUJIFILM USB Printer’ should be listed now:

Important Note
The above described steps A to M must be performed for every single attached ASK-300 printer! If
more than one ASK-300 printers are attached it is not sufficient to perform steps A to M only once.
That means that you must run through these steps every time you attach a new or a replacement
ASK-300 printer to an order-it kiosk. Please keep in mind that an individual ASK-300 printer cannot be
detected by the print-processor until a Fujifilm USB port has been installed for it.
As a rule of thumb you can expect that a Fujifilm USB port must still be installed if a ‘USB printing
support’ item is still be visible in the ‘Universal serial bus controllers’ section of the device list in the
Windows Device Manager, as can be seen here:
