• Councils (34) offer an excellent opportunity to share your expertise, while enhancing your reputation and professional credentials. Being a council member is not an honorary title; it is a working position that requires personal commitment from both members and their employers.

• Volunteers are selected from ASIS members in good standing who know their company will support active involvement, which includes the ability to participate in meetings throughout the year.

What is the Foundation?

• A 501(c)(3) nonprofit affiliate of ASIS International.

• Supports global security professionals worldwide through research and education.

• Awards grants and scholarships to help chapters and individuals--including those transitioning to careers in security management--achieve their professional and academic goals.

PRACTICAL RESEARCH

Research Vision: To elevate the value of credible research in developing the security profession, informing practitioner decision-making, and transforming the future of the security sector.

Recent Projects• The State of Security Convergence (2019)

– A new study examining the rate of convergence between cybersecurity, physical security, and business continuity functions. Using survey responses from more than 1,000 security leaders in the U.S., Europe, and India, plus more than 20 follow-up interviews, the study provides relevant benchmarks for creating more effective and cost-efficient security and risk operations.

• Intelligent Building Management Systems: Guidance for Protecting Organizations (2018)– Partnered with BOMA & SIA

– Framework to help decision-makers assign a risk-based criticality or impact to their building

• Scouting the Future (2017/2018)– Helps leaders navigate the future; innovative project that identified seven key change

drivers impacting security

• Funding for a two-day, custom designed physical security education program for an ASIS chapter (up to $10,000)

Public-Private Partnership (P3) Grant in honor of Matthew Simeone

• $4,000 to a full-service law enforcement agency to support their active P3 program; supported by the LELC

ASIS Foundation Scholarships

• Road to Certification Scholarship in honor of Allan J. Cross

• Career Development Scholarships, underwritten by Securitas

• Military Liaison Council Certification Scholarships

• Law Enforcement Liaison Certification Scholarships

• IFPO Certification Scholarships

Who we are:

• Incorporated in 1960, the Kansas City Chapter is one of the largest Midwest chapters of ASIS International. Our members are security professionals and practitioners who represent some of Kansas City's area's finest corporations, both large and small. Our members also belong to law enforcement and government agencies and educational institutions. It continues to offer its members an active choice of meetings, trainings and certification opportunities.

• Our members are responsible for the security and life-safety programs safeguarding many of Kansas City's mostprominent buildings and institutions, as well as hundreds of venues where area residents live, work and play. The Kansas City Chapter of ASIS International supports these security practitioners by providing educational programs and opportunities to exchange knowledge of best practices within the field.
