• Supply Chain Partners– When you give your partners the responsibility of managing your freight you have to hold them accountable.

– By including the FSRs and TSRs in your business contracts with your providers you have definitive security requirements that have substance.

– A good supply chain security program is a combination of strong and effective contract requirements, trained and aware employees and technology.

• By including the FSR/TSR you and your service provider both of you are “speaking the same language”.

• You have auditable security requirements which tell you the current status including strengths and deficiencies.

• You can use these standards to build a Continuous Improvement Plan.

• Good Supply Chain Security Matters– Building a secure supply chain ensures resilience

– Building a secure supply chain ensures higher customer satisfaction scores.

– Building a secure supply chain lowers cargo theft losses and provides financial returns to the bottom line of the company.

– Building a secure supply chain minimizes contraband smuggling and cargo terrorism concerns.

Cargo Security –It’s not one thing…  It’s everything

• We take pride in developing robust, multi layered security plans

• Many smart steps add up: we interweave elements, providing redundant systems that backstop for any weakness

Cargo Security –Known truck stop thefts

• Schneider actively follow industry theft trends • GEO Fence to warn SNI Drivers (Distinct Location)• Follow up with Driver and DBL as needed• Fleet messages, as needed (Holidays)

Trailer Security –While over the road

• Driver Training

• Driver Leader Monitoring

• Driver forced to use Schneider nation wide drop yard system

• Separate tractor and trailer monitoring

• Security parking with vendors outside of Schneider network (e.g. fuel location)

• King Pin locks

• Padlocks on trailers

• Trailers backed against barriers

• Customer Service Monitoring

• 3 way Security Briefing

Page 7: ASIS 2016Ensure Your Transporter Is SecureResilientand ......8/27/2016 1 ASIS Wheels, Rails and Rudders: Ensure Your Transporter is Secure, Resilient and Efficient Scott R. Dedic Chairman,

Trailer Security –While at our controlled facility

• Perimeter Fence w/barb wire

• Access control

– Validate Tractor, Trailer, and Driver

• Gate System

• Well lit yards

• CCTV (Camera System)

• Designated Parking

• King Pin locks

• Padlocks on trailers

• Trailers backed against barriers

• Daily audit

• BOL controlled onsite

• Driver sign in/out HV load

• Driver Training

Customer on‐site audit of our processes

Customer Service Screens –High Value Tracking

• HV Loads identified by “$” symbol

• All SNI associates trained on HV symbol

• This special condition triggers:

• Driver process• Customer Services

Process• Driver’s Leader

Process• Security Process

Schneider Security Operations

WHY

• Customer driven– Required more secured locations

• 8+ locations using Guards for Security– Very expensive

– No validation (real time load info)

– FLT on the rise

RESULTS• Lower Cost

• Better Value

• 0 Full Load Theft since 1999

• Driver Satisfaction
