It is my distinct honor to cordially invite you all to the first annual edition of the Asia Youth Model UN Conference 2019 organized by The Youth Republic The Youth Republic is a Non-Governmental Organization, committed to provide platform for young leaders, youth activist and doers to support them via collaborating and engage them with others from different cultural background. This platform will be supporting, collaborating, promoting, engaging and celebrating the diversity, inclusion and admittance. TYR warmly welcomes each and every young leader regardless of educational, cultural or religious background. Asia International Model UN Conference under the umbrella of The Youth Republic is an ambitious project initiated by young, creative and ingenious students and some of the most experienced MUN minds from all over the world for other passionate and innovative minds. The aim of this conference is to promote the Model United Nations’ message and principles, as well as bringing young leaders and teenagers closer to knowing what’s happening in the world at the moment, through debating upon the issues and coming up with solution that would maintain international peace and defend equality among individuals all over the world. To execute Asia Youth International Model UN conference the organizing team is working very hard to create an incredible experience for all of you and we cannot wait to show you what AIMUNC’19 has in store for all of you. AIMUNC 2019 will be held in the cultural capital of Kingdom of Thailand, Bangkok with energetic debate, amazing social events, city tour and diplomatic and cultural dinner. GREETINGS FROM PRESIDENT

Hello, This is Zain Ahmed. I shall be serving as the Secretary General for the Asia International Model United Nations Conference for its first edition. I am an engineering student who was introduced to political sciences and philosophy by debate. My message to the attendee delegates would simply be an axiom i.e. variety is the spice of life. So no matter what part of world or rank of society or discipline of education you hail from, we are designing this event to procure you that variety. Pertaining to debate, our idea is to promote first hand understanding of global affairs to our youth, and we work to bring the complexity of international political checkmating down to the simplicity of high school and college discussions. GREETINGS FROM SECRETARY GENERAL

The Concept of Model United Nations was brought up by the United Nations to build and prepare the young generation as future leaders. The activity is based on creating awareness, leadership, diplomacy and public speaking skills to boost up students in their co-curricular activities. The United Nations initiated the first Model United Nations Conference to provide a simulating idea of the UN. Model United Nations Conferences are hosted across the world to provide authentic simulations of the workings of the United Nations and other global organizations. They are aimed to provide an educational experience that allows the students to set into the role of global ambassadors and discuss pertinent issues, so as to provide solutions to the problems that the International Community is currently facing. Through these conferences, participants `learn key tools like effective communication, multi-lateral diplomacy and professionalism, in addition to becoming informed citizens of the global populace.

Asia International Model UN Conference, AIMUNC’19 is an annual four-day travelling Model United Nations Conference organized by The Youth Republic, a non-governmental organization dedicated to forging ties and giving back to the society. With the end goal of promoting the art

of diplomacy among youth, the conference travels from country to country and serves as a beacon of hope for future policymakers and young diplomats who aspire and have a notion to represent their countries, cultures and institutes at a global level by making their voice heard

loud and clear in the halls of senates, at the councils of the United Nations and in International Organizations. At AIMUNC delegates gain insight into the workings of the United Nations and

the dynamics of international relations by assuming the roles of UN representatives and members of other international bodies and national cabinets. The Conference consists of a

number of activities, including role playing ambassadors, United Nations Councils, guest speakers and a number of evening social activities programs

The first Instal lment of Asia International Model UN conference wi l l be held in United Nations Conference Centre - Bangkok. The United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) is located on Rajadamnern Nok Avenue and Klong Phadung Krungkasem Road, Bangkok, Thai land. The UNCC occupies approximately 18,600 square metres of land and is in close proximity to many government offices. UNCC is one of the three UN bui ldings within the complex and has three floors. Combining advanced bui lding technology with the UN's unrival led experience of international meetings, the UNCC is unmatched in Asia.

General Assembly UN Women

The General Assembly is one of the six main organs of the United Nations, the only one in which all Member States have equal

representation: one nation, one vote. All 193 Member States of the United Nations

are represented in this unique forum to discuss and work together on a wide array of international issues covered by the UN Charter, such as development, peace and

security, international law, etc. In September, all the Members meet in the

General Assembly Hall in New York for the annual General Assembly session.

The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women,

also known as UN Women, is a United Nations entity working for the

empowerment of women. (UN-WOMEN) was created on July 2, 2010 and became functional in 2011. Before the UN Women

was created, gender equality initiatives were split between four distinct divisions

of the UN. The UN General Assembly later voted to combine these bodies into a single new

entity in order to promote cohesion, gender equality and advancement of woman’s

empowerment.

IMF

IMF, also known as the International Monetary Fund, was conceived at a UN

conference in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, United States, in July 1944.

The 44 countries at that conference sought to build a framework for economic

cooperation to avoid a repetition of the competitive devaluations that had

contributed to the Great Depression of the 1930s. The IMF’s primary purpose is to ensure the stability of the international

monetary system, the system of exchange rates and international payments that

enables countries (and their citizens) to transact with each other. The Fund’s

mandate was updated in 2012 to include all macroeconomic and financial sector

UNDP UNESCOThe United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the United

Nations’ global development network. Headquartered in New York City, UNDP advocates for change and

connects countries to knowledge, experience, and resources to help people build a better life for themselves. It provides expert advice,

training and grants support to developing countries, with increasing emphasis on assistance to the least developed countries. It promotes technical and investment cooperation among nations. The status of

UNDP is that of an executive board within the United Nations General Assembly. The UNDP Administrator is the third highest-ranking official of the United Nations after the United Nations Secretary-General and

Deputy Secretary-General.

United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN) based in Paris. UNESCO

seeks to build peace through international cooperation in Education, the Sciences and Culture in order to increase universal respect for justice,

the rule of law, and human rights along with fundamental freedom proclaimed in the United Nations Charter. UNESCO’s programs

contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals defined in Agenda 2030, adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015. UNESCO pursues its objectives through five major programs: education, natural sciences, social/human sciences, culture and communication/information. Projects sponsored by UNESCO include literacy, technical,

and teacher-training programs, international science programs, the promotion of independent media and freedom of the press, regional and cultural history projects, the promotion of cultural diversity, translations of world literature, international cooperation agreements to secure the

world’s cultural and natural heritage (World Heritage sites) and to preserve human rights, and attempts to bridge the worldwide digital divide. UNESCO helps countries adopt international standards and

manages programs that foster the free flow of ideas and knowledge sharing.

MUN 101

On MUN 101, with help by our Experienced Board of Dais, delegates and International Press member wil l learn step-by-step regarding the procedure of MUN and about Do’s and Don’ts of MUN. Board of Dais wil l be explaining Rules, Procedures and agenda of counci l session fol lowed by a Mock session. The Mock session wil l be helping first-t imer delegates to better understand about the proceedings of Model UN Conference.

COUNCIL SESSION

Council session is a formal session in which assigned delegates discuss about cer tain issues in each counci l . Counci l sessions supervised by the Board of Dais are the hear t of a Model United Nations Conference where the delegates get to role-play the diplomats of their previously assigned countries and voice their stances on the topics which wil l also be assigned ahead of the conference along with the study guides. These sessions test their capabil i ty and resi l ience as the potential future leaders through draft ing, debates and negotiat ions and provide them with the oppor tunit ies to voice their young and earnest ideas to formulate resolutions.

DIPLOMATIC MEET

Asia International Model UN Conference provides a networking moment namely Diplomatic Meet. Delegates wil l be expanding their networking with delegates from foreign countries. But the special things wil l be the presence of Honorable Diplomatic Mission of different countries and Esteemed Ambassadors. Delegates wil l be having their moment of the l i fe to meet Diplomats and learn from their experience.

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH SYMPOSIUM

theme “SDG and the Role of Youth” wil l be conducted by outstanding speakers in the very domain to highl ight al l different dimensions of the topic, this session wil l be fol lowed by question answer session for helping delegates to better understand the topic.
