Do you
think you’re
the one?
It takes more than 75,000 hand-picked blossoms to make 500 grams
of saffron, the world’s most expensive spice.
It takes searching among 10,000,000 people to find one true social
entrepreneur.
We are looking for New Fellows
Ashoka fellows are Social Entrepeneurs with a New Idea in their hands
Who is a Social Entrepreneur?
In the Ashoka dictionary, a social entrepreneur is someone innovative, visionary,
persistent, committed, resourceful and with a sound ethical fiber.
Social Entrepeneurs share the qualities of leading business entrepreneurs, but instead
of seeking profit they seek systemic and sustainable social change.
What’s a New Idea?
A new idea is a fresh solution to an existing problem, an idea that a person came up
with after careful analysis and examination. We look for people with system changing
ideas that can be scaled-up and replicated.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for people who are obsessed with their idea, who will not rest until
they change existing realities. We are not looking for people who have implemented
successful one-off projects; we’re looking for people with a cause. An Ashoka Fellow
is someone who plans to spread and expand the impact of his or her initiative until it
reaches everyone suffering from the problem. We are looking for Changemakers.
