    Some of the leading killers in America today, including heart disease, cancer, obesity, and strokes, are directly linked to meat-based diets. Heart disease is the number one cause of death in America today, and it is caused by the build-up of cholesterol and saturated fat from animal products in our arteries. People who consume animal products are also at increased risk for many other illnesses. That include strokes, obesity, osteoporosis, arthritis, Alzheimer's, multiple allergies, diabetes, and food poisoning. (PETA) People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, with more than 2.0 million members and supporters, are the largest animal rights organization in the world. PETA would like to see a 20% decrease in the purchase of meats over a year starting four days after the event; which is held on Sept. 26th, 2011. The objective would be measurable by keeping a contact list made at the event for Vegs for Dinners staff to keep up-to-date on the familys diet consumption and cost.

    The Vegs? For Dinner event will be held in Atlanta, Georgia and anyone in the nearby towns and cities within a 50 miles radius outside the Greater Atlanta Area are invited to join the free family dinner. The dinner event relates to the price of food on the rise in todays modern market. The event also gives lifestyle-changing information to help and maintain a healthy balanced diet. Many volunteers in the local animal abuse groups are coming together to connect to the local community to encourage people to come.
