If your child has a rabies shot, the wound should start to heal automatically. However, you should still clean it thoroughly (it WILL hurt). If he/she doesn't have a vaccine, he/she should be taken to the nearest medical center immediately. But it is said that it can happen with a transplant. For instants if the person needing a transplant takes any organ from an infected person the virus will spread through the other humans body.

How It Works

Rabies is spread when you are a bitten by an affected animal. The virus spreads all over your body and affects the central nervous system including the brain and spinal cord. The infection causes inflammation of the brain and spinal cord. This can can lead to encephalopathy. Encephalopathy is any type of disease that changes the brain's function or structure.
