ARE YOU CARRYING A COUNTERFEIT PURSE?

You’ve seen her, know her, and might even be her! The woman with the “counterfeit purse.” That’s the term for the symbolic bag carried by women who dress fashionably and drive a nice car but have nothing of real value. It may look great right now, but it won’t hold up over the long term.

Reversing the Pain Of InfidelityBy Coach Da-Nay Macklin,BS, CCLC

Your husband’s infidelity has left you with a deep pain that just won’t go away. You want your marriage to heal, but that hurt is almost a hollow feeling that used to be filled with trust, joy and confidence. Is there any way to get back what was taken from you?

Yes, but you have to want it badly enough to make some tough decisions.

The first decision is to create an atmosphere of forgiveness in your home. Talk it over with him and decide together that you both will always try to be in a forgiving frame of mind toward each other and others. Do not tolerate holding grudges for every little infraction or irritation. Have everyone in your family get into the habit of thinking about the needs of others first and... quickly asking for forgiveness when they

accidently upset someone  or  hurt  their  Feelings. Be quick to go the extra mile for each other and just as quick to forgive when the other person doesn’t quite measure up. Habitual forgiveness starts to fill that hollow spot by allowing you to trust that the other person really cares about you.

The second decision is to choose if you want your marriage restored or if you’d rather keep playing the victim. Misery loves company! There is no changing the past. Your husband damaged your marriage relationship. You were the victim, but if you keep reminding yourself and him that you are the one who got hurt, you will relive it over and over again. The pain will not only be as deep as it was when it first happened, but your mind will exaggerate it, compounding it by adding all the other hurtful things

you can think of that he has ever done to you. By the time you are finished reenacting the past, you are drowning in mental and emotional misery and absolutely furious at him. He walks into the kitchen... to get a beverage and you are ready to jump down his throat.

WORSHIPThe Ultimate Expression of LoveBy Stacey Joseph Harris Most  of  us  are  enamored  with  the  idea  of  love.  The  windows  of  our  soul  give  way  to  the  texture  and  feel  of  a  new  love.  Our  minds  and  hearts  adjust  to  the  ups  and  downs  of  love.  We  make  concessions  for  the  2me  that  it  takes  for  love  to  germinate  in  our  hearts.  We  simply  want  to  experience  it  and  give  it  away.  I  believe  that  our  hearts  were  uniquely  designed  by  God  to  share.  We  are  love  children  and  we  were  made  to  love.  It’s  woven  into  the  fiber  of  our  being.  It’s  smeared  across  our  ideals  and  thoughts.  It  is  the  compass  that  guides  us  along  the  streets  of  our  journey  where  we  find  ourselves  parked.

I  believe  that  within  each  of  us  lies  a  “God  spot”.  It’s  a  place  within  our  spirit  that  needs  to  express  a  deep  and  genuine  love  to  God.  And  thou  shalt  love  the  Lord  thy  God  with  all  thy  heart,  and  with  all  thy  soul,  and  with  all  thy  mind,  and  with  all  thy  strength:  this  is  the  first  commandment.  Mark  12:30  It’s  the  depth  of  our  souls  that  must  bear  everything,  with  all  sincerity,  to  the  one  that  loved  us  first.  Worship  is  the  ul2mate  expression  of  love.  I’m  not  regula2ng  it  to  the  first  30  minutes  of  service  or  the  song  that  moves  you  to  tears.  It  travels  inten2onally  beyond  music  or  a  church  seNng.  It  finds  its  way  into  your  thoughts  throughout  the  day.  It  appears  during  a  moment  when  you  realize  that  you’re  grateful  for  the  grace  that  has  carried  you  through  the  seasons  of  your  life.  It  shows  up  while  you  parent  your  children  and  honor  your  spouses...
