Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal Sanstha known as RMKM Sanstha; is Non- Government Organisation

registered under Society Registration Act; working in the field of Health, Education, Livelihood and Human

Resource in the district of Ajmer, Pali, and Nagaur. The Main objectives of the RMKM is to improve the overall

standard of life in rural as well as urban communities through the mobilization of all possible resources

including education, health and the environment;

Our works in brief are as follows;

Education: RMKM since 1991, had addressed the needs of children with disability through special

education, especially those who are intellectual disabilities, for that RMKM believe in Inclusive Education

which is the best way forward. RMKM runs schools for children with special needs (CWSN). RMKM has to

date reached to 590 children in Ajmer district alone.

Givers training etc.

In this contest we are also more focusing for improving the physical, social, as well as educational

developments of the Children with Special Needs (CWSN) through provding education, training and

rehabitatation services i.e. Special Education, Physiotherapy, Speechtherapy, Pschotherapy, Vocational

Training, Job placement and participation in games activities at district, divisional, state, National as well as

International level. For that Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal's School i.e. Minu Manovikas Mandir Inclusive

School Chachiyawas had participated in different games activities and training/coaching camp in FY 2011-

2012. Our Schools are also participating in cultural activities like International Suffie Festival and in other

activities organized by the District Administration as well as Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJE)

Government of Rajasthan. The details of these activities are as follows;

We have started this rehabilitation programme with following objectives

1. To provide preventive, promotive and rehabilitative services to Mentally Challenged and multiple disability

children.

2. To provide vocational assistance & training to the mentally challenged and multiple disability children.

3. To educate and trained mentally challenged & multiple disability children with their family's support.

4. To motivate family members for mentally challenged & multiple disability children's training and

rehabilitation.

5. To sensitize family about the need of the mentally challenged children also multiple disable children and

to help the child in his/her development as per his/her potentials.

6. To implement outreach and comprehensive community based rehabilitation programme in nearby areas

of proposed area.

7. To provide equal rights to the special children as equal with the normal children.

8. To generate biased free atmosphere for the special as well as normal children.

1- Inclusive school : At Chachiyawas village organization running an inclusive schools for all the children.

3-Vocational training : It's very important and significant activity of making mentally children self

reliant. We are giving major focus on holistic development of mentally challenged children. Through our

vocational centre we are training children to get fit in to the society. Vocational training is provided as part of

education to day care centre and also at CBR centre, focus is given on greetings card, handmade bag, to learn

these skill fine motor and Gross motor coordination is important. This year in this component mayo girls

student came to teach deco items to our student with regular interval. This programme was very successful.

5- Games & sports : In the last year CWSN at inclusive school done a remarkable achievements in area of games & sports. Some details are as under :

(1) From 18th September 2011 to 24th September 2011; students of RMKM had participated in National

coaching Camp organized by Special Olympic Bharat in Scatting at Amar Ashram, Patiala Punjab. In

that coaching camp eight students and two coaches were participated. The lists of the participants are

(2) From 29th November 2011 to 30th November 2011; schools students had participated in Divisional level

games at Pushkar; organized by RMKM with support of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJE) Govt.

of Rajasthan. In that coaching camp 39 students were participated and got 19 students first prizes, 10 second

prizes and 12 students got third prizes.

(3) From 7th January 2012 to 13th January 2012; our students had participated in National Coaching Camp in

Athletic at Dehradoon organized by Special Olympic Bharat. Seven students & one coach and one special

(4)From 29th January 2012 to 2nd February 2012; our schools students had participated in National Volleyball

Championship in Nivai district Tonk organized by Special Olympic Bharat. Six students & one coach and one

(5) From 23rd February 2012 to 19th February 2012, our students had participated in National Coaching Camp

in Athletic at Agra (U.P.) organized by Special Olympic Bharat. Four students and one coach had participated

(6) From 17th February 2012 to 22nd February 2012, our school students had participated in National games in

Bocci at Chennai (Tamil Nadu) organized by Special Olympic Bharat. In that camp two students and one coach

had participated. Achievements: 1 Gold Medal, 3 Silver Medals and 2 Bronze Medals at National Level in Boochi

at Chennai in the month of February 2012, and in Volleyball - Our students were Runners at State Level.

Every year Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJE) Government of Rajasthan organized Divisional

level Special Olympic. Our students are participating in Special Olympic. This year our students had

participated in Athletics at District, Divisional, State & National Level (short foot, Long Jump, Standing long

jump, Soft boll) Games: (Boochi, 50, 100, 200, 400 meter race, Relay race, Volleyball, Scatting, Badminton,

and Football).

The list of the students who got gold medal, silver medal and bronze medal and coaches who have done a

remarkable jobs and students got gold, silver and bronze medal with extra efforts made by the coaches.

For the overall development in special children RMKM have developed a good play ground, Basketball court

and activity play ground so that students could perform very well in the school campus.

Our game teachers are always trying to build up an interest in students in different games activities according

to the interest of the students so that they could also participate in games activities.

All these students were not able to perform these activities before 12 months. Extra efforts made by our

games teachers (coaches) and interest shown by the students; now at the present time they are well trained

and this is the great impact as well as great achievement for the student's level as well as Organizational level

and these students proved that they can do everything if they have opportunity to do and to make a model for

other students which are Mentally Challenged.

Games Teachers are also in process to provide trainings/coaching in different games activities as per seeing

the interest of students like in Badminton, Volleyball, Football, Bocci, Short foot, Long jump, Race, Cricket,

Soft ball throw, Sitoliya, caroms etc.

Due to the games activities in school campus and participation of the students in games activities his/her

moral, physical, educational as well as social aspects have been improved a lot. Seeing these improvements

other students are also motivating and participating in games activities. These are the good impact in students

through the games activities in school campus.

We Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal Sanstha school's students are the role model in Ajmer district as well as in

Rajasthan State and in India to motivate to other disabled people for the betterment of the life and proving

that Special Children can perform very well when we provide better environments.

With support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (Department of Sports) Government of India, New Delhi

in terms of Sports kit (Track Suit, T-Shirt, Caps, Sports Shoes, and Socks etc) and sports/games materials like

Volleyball, Football, Basket Ball, Badminton and others. Now, our special children (CWSN) are updated in sport

kit and sport/games materials.

This was not possible without support of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, New

Delhi. We; Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal Sanstha (RMKM) is very- very thankful for the support of Games

for the Special Children. We are always trying our best to provide best facilities to the special children in terms

of overall developments.

Name: Dipesh Jain

Mr. Dipesh Jain who is 18 years old, intellectual challenged student residing at Ramganj, Ajmer. His

father is doing job in railway in Ajmer and mother is house wife. Dipesh had normal birth with low

weight. When Dipesh was 4 months old he had fall down and injured in his head and came feast.

Their parents went to the Doctor and doctor prescribed medicines and after few days he was better.

His parents had no idea that his child is suffering from mental retardation and they never expect

that his child is not a normal child. They came to know when Dipesh was 7 years old; his child had

not better improvement according to their age as per the growths in normal child. Then they went

to the doctors and after lot of efforts by his parents and doctors, there was no improvement in

Dipesh and his neighbors suggested them please admit his child in school Minu Manovikas Mandir

Inclusive School run by the Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal, Chachiyawas, Ajmer which is the best

school in Ajmer district for the mentally challenged people. Then his parents decided to admit

Dipesh in RMKM School in Chachiyawas. Dipesh registered with RMKM’s School i.e. Minu Manovikas

Mandir Inclusive school on 2nd July 2001.

Before taken in MMM Inclusive school our professional experts like Physiotherapist, Psychologist,

and special Educator have completed the assessment and found that Dipesh had a Hyperactive,

destructive behavior, poor Eye- hand Coordination, Poor academic performance. After the

assessment of our experts Dipesh had admitted in primary class. Regular assessment by the experts

and they found that Dipesh had made a remarkable improvement in his conditions. Now at the time

Dipesh is in vocational class under stationary unit. Where he doing paper cutting, folding, pasting

etc. Watching his interest his trainer Mr. Bharat Kumar Sharma started teaching him for making files,

folders, diaries etc. Now the present time he is learning to sewing machine .Dipesh is doing his job

very well with full interest and confidence. He is also participating in cultural activities and games.

He is good dancer. He was also participated in the several cultural activities. He had participated in

International Suffie festival in Rajhans Vatika Patel Maidan Ajmer. On the previous night of 26 th

January i.e. Republic Day, team of Mr. Dipesh participated in the cultural activities organized by the

District Administration Ajmer. District collector Mrs. Manju Rajpal appreciated and awarded to Mr.

Dipesh and his team by first prize. This was the remarkable achievement for the school as well as

spreading the effective awareness that mentally challenged students could perform better if we

could provide opportunity to the disabled people in the community for the betterment of the special

child.

At the time of activities audience said” Who said that mentally Challenged People could not do

anything; they proved that if they got opportunity they can do everything”

This slogan has a great achievement for the Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal especially school

teachers, Physiotherapist, Psychologist, Physical teachers and special educators who have done

great jobs for the betterment of the Mentally Challenged People.

During the parents teachers meet in RMKM School when his parents to see the development and

works in his child they have appreciated the work of Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal whose

dedicated staff are doing very well for the betterment and advancement of the mentally challenged

people. In his languages they says; “ Mujhe Nahi Lagta hai ki en jaise bacchon ke liye esase achha

aur bhi kutch ho sakata hai”Mijhe ab puri santusthi hai ki yaha akar MR Bachha Bahut Kutch sikh

sakta Hai aur bahut kutch kar sakta Hai”.

Smile face & close up boy, kaluram is a 9 year old intellectual challenged students residing in Village & Post Nogal Kala Tehsil Choumu Distt. Jaipur (Raj.) His father is laboure and mother is a housewife. His family is poor and however his father is earning money for the food of their family.

He born in full born with normal delivery but birth cry was absent, he had normal birth weight. After six month he had got fever and he had vomiting diarrhea, then after he showed the delayed development mile stone.

His father came to know about the school by his relatives. His father approved the school with complaint

that he had got many problems. Distractive behaviors to others. Poor socialization, hyperactive poor academic performance, speech problem at the age of 7 years.

After proper assessment on 29th July 2010 we admitted him in hostel at pre-primary class of Minu Manovikas Mandir “Inclusive School” proper assessment was done with psychological testing such as MBCL, GDT, SFBT, FACP & speech assessment test showed that he has no proper sitting at one place, hyperactive behaviours, poor attention, poor eye hand coordination, nonverbal communication.

After assessment he referred for counseling special education & speech therapy.

After regular setting at psychological counseling and behavior modification techniques we observed that kaluram follows proper instruction, proper sitting at particular place improve, his distractive behavior got minimized. His social skills has also improved in term of helping other.

With regular intervention of speech and language communication his vocabulary has increased. He speak simple words like (Khana, Pani, Acchchha, Roti, Khawa, Yeh kya hai etc.) and he called his friends name.

Special education helped him in improving has pre writing skills as well as motor skills, now he colors in shape he also recognize shape and size. He started recognized peers name.

His confidence has improved he has participated in 50 mt. race & SBT games organized at divisional level.

His father feels very satisfactory due to his performance.

S o n u S h a r m a

Sonu Sharma is a 17 years old cerebral

palsy student residing in Vasundhra colony,

Makrana District Nagour. Her father is die &

mother is single earner.

She born with full term normal

delivery and hand normal birth weight. She

showed delayed development mile stone.

Her mother came to know about the

school from known person. Her mother

approached the school with complaint of her physical deformity, speech problem aggressive behaviours. She

did not like to work with male person.

After assessment we observed that sonu is CP mixed category child she had lack of socialization skills

and unrelevant fear to male person.when sonu was admitted in school she had balance problem and not

used to work 4 step independently had least interest in doing activity and geeing along with her peer.

We have admitted sonu is class 2 inclusion along with this regular counseling and physiotherapy is

done. Counseling helped sonu tremendously in getting along with her peers, unrelevant fear for male person

totally removed. Now she walk independently.

Now, we are training in pre vocational skills like time concept and money concept skills paper folding

independently now she don’t need any help to do her ADL. This is great achievement her mother feels.

NaRESH Khatik, smart good looking, shy adult today you can see him working in Gramin Bank following instruction of his supervisor , passing file from counter, serving water , tea to bank staff, guiding customer, but 10 years back scenario was different , naresh parent mr, shravankumar and mrs,sohanidevi was very worried for their16 year boy, who was not able to speak properly, he left his study due to regular fail in same class, he needs repetitive instruction to complete his ADL activity by his own, even he was unable to identify money and do small money transaction , in his early school years teachers used to say that he don’t seat in one place never complete his work ,when naredra was 10 year old parent approached doctor that he is very slow in all his activity even in study, even he had delayed development milestone that time parents understood that naredra will able to work slow or learn slow , he will not pick up the things as good as his other siblings do, but with regular enforcement he will learn the things,

Then his father Approached RMKM to start intervention with narendra , in year 2003, after proper assessment narendra referred for home based education programme,by considering need of child and keeping in mind parents expectation target was taken, first preference was given on ADL activities to regularly with no assistance form parents along with this speech therapy was started for speech clarity on academic side prevocational activity was focused like identifying names of days and month, counting, time concept and money concept., in year 2005 by motivating parent he was placed in shop for job trainee as shop helper, this help him to developed his mobility, but he was very scared and not going regularly even parents were not forcing him to go to jog regularly, with regular counseling parents stared following programme with Narendra which help naredra to go shop regularly, Naredra;s teacher gave councelling to his employer and motivated him to give stay fund to naredra 500 rs/month this become motivation to parent and naredra, along with this teacher worked on money concept and time concept, in year 2007 he started getting 700 rs, as permonth salary, by this time naredra’s interest to do job was very much developed, with consultation with parent we enrolled Naredra in employment exchange .

I n year 2008 his father changed his job , and he started getting 65 rupees per day for his work, teacher were working on his employ ability skills like, informing supervisor before taking leave, respecting supervisor, following work time as other worker follows, , in these years his socialization was improved, even he started buying small things from shop his skills of money transaction was improved, in year 2011 he was placed as labourer ( open employment ) where he got 3000 rs /month salry, and he started staying with other relative without parent,

Naredra’s social skills were start ed improving day by day his parents followed all the programme as suggested by teacher and motivated and helped narendrea to follow the programme,

in april 2001 naredra got call from gramin bank, for the post of peon as he was not able to complete 8 th

standard having primary class certificate , he faced the interview , due regular working in shops his social skill are improved which help him to get through form interview after the interview he got selected for the post of peon in Bank, this was memorable moment for his parent now narendra is earning 10 thousand Rs per month and leading towards independence .
