IoT in Malaysia
In 2015, I was launched the National IoT Strategic Roadmap,
with the expectation of an industry sector yearly contribution
of approx. € 2.3b to the GDP by 2020 and € 9b by 2025.
The paper serves as a guiding document to develop Malaysia
into a premier regional IoT hub.
The domestic IoT industry is recognised as key development sector and the strategic plan involves the creation of an IoT industry ecosystem.

As announced in the budget for 2018, the Malaysian government would also provide grants worth RM245million under the Domestic Investment Strategic Fund to upgrade Smart Manufacturing services, aimed atsupporting investment and business activities under the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0).

• The IoT Trade Mission is an initiative of SEBSEAM-M (Support for European
Businesses in South East Asia Markets – Malaysia Component), a project
implemented by the EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry – EUMCCI
(the Organiser), in collaboration with Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce
and Industry (MGCC), Malaysian Dutch Business Council (MDBC), Business
