5) Listing Portal for jobs

ASDC in association with TCS iON is creating a Listing Platform for certied candidates and employers for listing job vacancies. This will bring skilled candidates closer to industry and provide insights of skilling process of candidate to industry. Real time inventory of skilled workforce will be available to the industry by providing them access in a listing platform.

Benets received post digitalization:

Overview

A country of 1.3 billion with a median age of 28, India has the largest ‘young’ workforce ready to join our industries. However, there is a substantial mismatch between the skills that employers expect and the skills that the youth possesses. To ensure adequate availability of quality workforce to meet industry requirements, there is a need to build a sustainable skill development ecosystem.

Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) has embraced digitalization to Reimagine, Standardize and Scale its processes. This will help identify potential candidates, equip them with the necessary skills, and match them with appropriate job opportunities in the Automotive sector. ASDC is promoted by the Automobile industry, through Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), and Government of India represented by Department of Heavy Industry and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). ASDC has transformed its way of operation, with active support from SIAM, ACMA and FADA.

4) Digitized Driving Assessments with TCS iON Cert-n-Edge

According to a survey from WHO, each year road trac injuries take away lives of 1.35 million men, women, and children around the globe and injure many more. 80% of all road accident deaths occur in middle income group countries and nearly half in the Asia-Pacic region.• India accounts for 12 percent of road accident fatalities worldwide.• An estimated 1,275,000 persons are grievously injured on the road every year.• Professionalism in driver training is absent, proportion of untrained drivers is

continually on the rise and a positive driving culture is lacking.#

ASDC has partnered with TCS iON to ensure or assure driver’s readiness and safety. The drivers will be assessed and certied based on their knowledge, responsiveness and behavioral maturity for safe driving. The candidates can enroll for online courses and clear tests to earn Safe Driver Badge.

The assessment will be conducted in two parts. Part A will cover the theory to test the knowledge of the driver while Part B will comprise practical tests. The theory test will be conducted at TCS iON centers across country while practical tests will be conducted in existing simulation set ups at TCS iON or partnered centers.

Challenges Faced

• Training Partners (TPs) use content developed by themselves. ASDC aims to go for standard content to be used by all TPs that will ensure quality delivery. So far, ASDC’s role has largely been limited to creation of QP/NOS/Job Roles.

• Manual process for aliating Training Partners and Training Centers resulted in little control on their infrastructure availability and quality.

• Inadequate Governance of Training Partners due to lack of consolidated dashboards. • Possibility of manipulations, and inadequate systems to be able to control these, in

both part A and part B assessments. Part B (Practical) assessments are totally dependent on assessors.

• There is no system available to keep a record of number of skilled candidates and track their employment.

• Low participation from industry, as they may not trust capabilities of trained candidates resulting in low recruitment of these candidates.

ASDC has partnered with TCS iON to address these challenges through Digital Transformation in 5 Key Areas

The industry provides inputs on the Learning Outcomes desired from candidates. This information is converted into course design, which delivers good Learning Experience. The course design, in turn, needs to be aligned with Assessment. Assessment being the measurement of Learning Experience based on the desired Learning Outcome, should encompass the essential knowledge and skills candidates develop in the course.

Through digitized platform, TCS iON has streamlined Training Partner and Assessment Agencies aliation processes by bringing them onto the same digital platform. This helps the Council manage aliations digitally thereby enhancing quality of delivery, and improving transparency.

The three key elements to the learning process:

2) Skilling and Upskilling of workforce in the Automotive Sector with TCS iON Digital Learning

ASDC utilizes TCS iON Digital Learning to full its aim of continuous development and skills upgradation for higher value additions in the automotive ecosystem.

Automotive Hub has been created and embedded in ASDC website which will feature online courses, assessments, and events for all skilling and upskilling needs. Educators and trainers deliver self-paced blended modules enabling users to eectively learn at their own pace and place of choice and get certied.

The hub provides an interactive environment for learners to collaborate and engage with their peers without any boundaries. Additionally, to ensure a smooth experience, the solution will subsequently provide customer support through phone, chat, and email.

3) Digitized Automotive Skill Assessment Process ASDC has digitally transformed Assessments for Government funded programs like PMKVY. ASDC has deployed TCS iON Digital Assessment Platform to conduct credible automotive skill assessments and produce quality output. • Online Candidate Registration• Online Test Paper Creation • Exam Conduct – - Part A (Subjective) - The candidates will be assessed online on TCS iON Digital Assessment platform. - Part B (Practical) - The candidates will be videographed and the videos will be marked online using TCS iON Digital Marking Solution. • Result Publishing• Totally free from human interference, with no knowledge or contact between the assessee and the assessor

TCS iON will conduct the PMKVY assessments across all states in India. The pilot phase has been completed with promising and satisfying results.

TCS iON is the world’s largest assessment service provider with 162.5 million candidates assessed till date over 2,929 exams. TCS iON conducts more than 85 per cent of the large-scale and high-stake academic and recruitment examinations in India through its state-of-the-art infrastructure across 631 cities through its ‘Phygital’ platforms.
