What have you learnt about technologies from the process of

constructing this product?

Adobe Photoshop

• Adobe Photoshop is a professional software. It worked efficiently for me to create professional images fast and effectively.

• I learnt how to export images and convert them into a JPEG’s.

• I learnt how to put depth in my images by using the colour gradient tool creatively. This made my images look professional.

Photoshop was a main software I used in the production of my magazine.

BlogSpot

• I have found www.blogspot.com , useful whilst producing my product because it has enabled me to organise my work and create a chronological order of my research and products.

• I have learnt how to edit the HTML and embed helpful powerpoints, videos and prezi’s to my blog.

• I now understand how to arrange my blog so the content is clear and understandable.

This is the layout for my blogger.

Prezi

• www.prezi.com was a very useful website to create my brainstorms because it was a simple yet creative programme to follow to express my ideas.

• Prezi was a creative way to publish my work I had researched and evaluated.

• I learnt how to add a path to my presentation to allow my work to be seen in chronological order.

Snapshots of my prezi’s I have created.

YouTube

• I have learnt how to upload videos in their appropriate format so that I could embed them into my blog posts.

• It was useful learning about the video so in the future I will understand and be able to create my own to embed into my blog

• I can now edit information on a video to change necessary words or sentences.

Slideshare

• Slideshare was a useful media technology due to it allowing me to covert my PowerPoint presentations into a more compatible format so I could embed it properly into my blog.

• I learnt how to create an account efficiently so I was able to upload a PowerPoint effectively and quickly.

• I found using Slideshare relatively straight forward due to it being similar to YouTube, therefore embedding my work was as easy and efficient.

InDesign

• I constructed the contents page and double page spread using InDesign software due to it being more text based compared to Adobe Photoshop.

• I learnt how to import my front cover – which was created in Photoshop. This joint all my 4 pages together.

• InDesign was useful for grouping and scaling texts and images together. Nevertheless, the resolution was greatly smaller for images, therefore photos were pixelated at times.

Internet Explorer

• I used Internet Explorer as my main use of finding out primary and secondary research such as; magazine layouts and stereotypical tribes.

• I learnt how to research properly into different areas for my product, such as; finding out particular owners for magazines.

• Internet Explorer helped my complete my research, nevertheless, its not 100% reliable and had poor quality images at times.

Finding research was fast and efficient

Microsoft Word

• I used Microsoft Word to create my questionnaire for my primary research.

• Due to their being no voice overs or video recordings I believe the questionnaire was a hard way to find out what my target audience wanted leaving it rather limited, due to not seeing the readers attitude towards the question.

Microsoft PowerPoint

• Microsoft PowerPoint was rather useful when researching various topics into my product, it allowed me to show my ideas on a slideshow to express my work and be seen creatively.

• Picture A is an example in which way I used to share my research on my blog.

• I then learnt how to upload my presentations to Slideshare to then be embedded into my blog, which was a familiar process as YouTube.

Microsoft PowerPoint was useful when presenting my research ideas.

Canon

• I used the canon camera for my practise and final photo shoot for my final magazine product.

• I learnt how to take images professionally using thirds – this allows you to get the right eyeline in the image.

• I understood how to zoom in and zoom out to get the image I wanted, so more than one object or person was suitable in the frame.

This is the camera I used to take my images for my final product
