Background

• The Army recommended closing Fort McPherson as part of Base Realignment and Closure 2005 (BRAC 05)

• The BRAC Commission approved this recommendation, including relocating Headquarters, Forces Command (FORSCOM) and United States Army Reserve Command (USARC) to Pope Air Force Base / Fort Bragg, North Carolina

• By law, the Army must complete BRAC 05 actions by 15 September 2011

Military Construction Contract Summary

• Project’s design-build contract scheduled completion date is 21 June 2011

• 20 September 2008: Savannah District of the Corps of Engineers (COE) awarded the FORSCOM/USARC Headquarters Military Construction (MILCON) project contract to Hensel Phelps
