I BELIEVE THAT MY FILM OPENING REPRESENTS THE SAME SOCIAL GROUP WHICH I AIM TO BE MY TARGET AUDIENCE; OPEN MINDED, ADVENTUROUS, FREE SPIRITED PEOPLE.

I FEEL AS IF THOSE KIND OF PEOPLE COULD REALLY RELATE TO THE CHARACTER IN THE FILM OPENING (THE ONLY ACTOR SHOWN IN THE FILM OPENING) WHO SEEMS LIKE A GENERIC YOUNG MALE, WHO IS DRESSED IN MODERATELY SUITABLE CLOTHING FOR GOING OUTDOORS IN BUT ALSO CLOTHING WHICH WOULD SEEM RATHER CASUAL TO MOST YOUNG PEOPLE, MEANING MOST OF MY AUDIENCE COULD RELATE TO THE CHARACTER OR RATHER EVEN BE THAT CHARACTER. THE MALE CHARACTER WEARS JEANS, A PAIR OF CONVERSE SHOES AND A COAT. THIS PORTRAYS A CHARACTER TO MY AUDIENCE WHICH SEEMS RATHER CASUAL AND RELATABLE, HOWEVER WHAT DOES DIFFERENTIATE HIM ARE HIS ACTIONS, AND WHERE HE IS, IN COMPARISON TO WHAT NORMAL YOUNG PEOPLE DO AND WHERE THEY CHOOSE TO BE. THIS IS WHAT LINKS HIM TO THE SOCIAL GROUP I WANT TO REPRESENT IN MY FILM, ITS MORE OF A WAY OF THINKING, AN IDEOLOGY OF A SORT RATHER THAN A STEREOTYPE OF A PERSON, WHICH WOULD BE A LIMITING FACTOR. HOWEVER ONE ISSUE RELATED TO THIS COULD BE THAT ONLY HAVING ONE ACTOR, THE RANGE OF PEOPLE; E.G DIFFERENT CLASSES, RACE, OR SEXUALITY CANNOT ALL BE COVERED.

TO FURTHER PUSH FORWARD THIS IDEOLOGY OR REPRESENTATION OF THIS SOCIAL GROUP, I DECIDED TO LIMIT MY AUDIO TO ONLY A SOUNDTRACK, WITH NO AUDIBLE DIALOGUE. THIS LEAVES MY CHARACTERS THOUGHT PROCESS AND SPEECH UP TO YOUR OWN INTERPRETATION, WITHOUT STREAM LINING MY CHARACTER TO BE MORE CONVENTIONAL, I FURTHER PUSH THE INFLUENCE AND REPRESENTATION OF MY CHOSEN SOCIAL GROUP.

MOST OF THE OPENING SHOTS OF MY CHARACTER ARE, WIDE SHOTS AND RATHER LONG SHOTS, DONE INTENTIONALLY TO SHOW THE SURROUNDINGS AND THE VAST NATURE AROUND MY CHARACTER, WHICH HELP REPRESENT THE IDEA OF FREEDOM AND BEING OPEN, NOT ONLY OPEN AS BEING IN THE OPEN, BUT OPEN-MINDEDNESS AND SUCH. THIS UNCONVENTIONALLY REPRESENTS MY CHARACTER, AS TEENAGERS AND YOUNG PEOPLE ARE TYPICALLY ASSOCIATED WITH THE DISLIKING OF RURAL AND NATURALISTIC PLACES, FEELING MUCH MORE AT HOME IN THE URBAN SETTINGS.

ANOTHER SHOT WHICH BUILDS UP ON THIS IS THE OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT OF MY CHARACTER SAT ON SOME ROCKS STARING INTO THE WATER AND VIEW OVER THE POND, THIS SHOT IS GREAT FOR OBSERVING EMOTION, AS WHEN HE TURNS HIS HEAD TO THE RIGHT ON THE SHOT, YOU CAN CLEARLY MAKE OUT HIS FACIAL EXPRESSION. THE SHOT CAN ALSO BE SYMBOLIC IN THE SENSE THAT WHEN THE CHARACTER IS SAT THERE, HE IS REFLECTING ON LIFE AND THE SITUATION HE HAS FOUND HIMSELF IN, BUT ON A PHYSICAL AND MATERIALISTIC LEVEL, THE WATER ITS SELF IS ALSO REFLECTIVE THEREFORE ENHANCING THAT MESSAGE. ALTHOUGH THIS MAY NOT SEEM AS CLEAR IN THE VIDEO AS ON THE RECORDING DAY, IT WAS RATHER WINDY SO THE DISTURBED WAVY WATER WAS NOT AS OBVIOUSLY REFLECTIVE.

OVERALL I WAS AIMING TO MAKE A UNIQUE AND NON-LINEAR FILM, WITH THE REPRESENTATION OF TYPICAL YOUNG PEOPLE BEING BROKEN AND ESPECIALLY FOCUSING ON PEOPLE WHO ARE FED UP OF THE SYSTEM (SCHOOL, WORK AND SO ON.), ARE ADVENTUROUS, OPEN MINDED, CREATIVE AND FREE SPIRITED.

THIS EDITING ALSO REFLECTED THE PEACEFULNESS OF NATURE, BEING STEADY AND CONTINUOUSLY FLOWING IN A NON-DISRUPTIVE MANNER, WHICH HOPEFULLY TO REFLECTS THESE SORT OF PEOPLE, AND MAKES FOR A APPEALING STYLE OF VIDEO.

I THINK I HAVE ACHIEVED TO REPRESENT THE PEOPLE I WAS WANTING TO REPRESENT, AS THE WHOLE VIDEO IS BRIMMING WITH HINTS TO THIS IDEOLOGY AND THE AGE OF MY CHARACTER ALSO SUPPORTS THE PARTICULAR FOCUS ON THE YOUNGER GENERATIONS. MAKING FOR A HOPEFULLY RELATABLE PIECE, WHICH IS ALSO ENJOYABLE.
