2. 1. In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
I have stuck to the colours from the FC to the contents. It also states that it is the contents and has the issue number of the magazine on it
I have stuck to the codes and conventions of a music magazine in all the pages of my magazine by using a specific colour scheme all the way through which is black white and red.
LIVE masthead top left hand corner
On my front cover i have included one main image that fills the page, a barcode, price and taglines.
On the double page spread i also stuck to the codes and conventions of a music magazine by doing it in interview form in 3 columns. I challenged the conventions as I kept the background white meaning it would be easier to read for the reader.

1.
These two links are of magazines that there main image is the main article in their magazine.
On my contents page i changed the codes and conventions slightly as the artist i am focusing on is not the biggest image on the contents page i did this to get the readers want to read more of the content in the magazine.
On the second page of my double page spread i have used three columns and have the interview Q in black and the A in red this gives the interview a good effect. I have challenged the codes and conventions slightly as i haven't put in any quotes because i would want readers to read the whole interview without just reading quotes.
On the double page spread i used my main image as half of the 1st page instead of a full page i thought this made the pages have a better effect. When I looked at other magazines they did this which I then used for my magazine.
4. 2.How does your media product represent particular social groups?
My music magazine is suitable for any ages from about 15/16 upwards. The target audience i was going for were 16-30 males and females. The magazine with the colour scheme would attract males but the images are suitable for males and female readers.
In my music magazine i don't specifically talk about gender, age, social class, race or disability as i don't think it is important to mention as any race gender or the others that i mentioned can read the magazine that i produced. The artists and other areas that are included in the contents are all different ages genders and races which means i haven't specifically chosen a all black band or all women TV show i have just used artists and TV shows that fit in the genre of my magazine.

To the left is N dubz i have included a article about them in the contents but as no copyright pictures can be used i could have a picture of them in it. This shows there is a variety of people included in my magazine.
5. 3.What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
The companies that might distribute my type of magazine would be IPC, IPC distribute many magazines and one magazine that they distribute is NME, this magazine is like my magazine and is the type i was aiming for. On this NME magazine there is Florence and the machine on the cover and they are one band that i have included in my magazine.
IPC also distribute many other magazines such asfashion magazines and stylemagazines , these type of magazines go well with music magazines which is why good company to go with.
6. 4. Who would the audience be for your media product?
Target audience =

  • 16-30 i chose to target 16-30 year olds as i think this is the prime age people start buying and reading magazines and really start watching the TV programmes and genre of musicthat will be included into the magazine.

7. Male or Female- i want both male and females to read my magazine there is contents in it that would suit the needs of both genders. 8. Any social status there wont be a social status that is targeted. More upper class people might not read the magazine as they could have been bought up reading different things. 9. Any Ethnicity Ethnicity isn't a main target as anyone from anywhere can read the magazine as it has contents suitable for all. 10. Likes the Genre of music i have focused on- it is important for the reader to like the contents in the magazine that why i used a variety of artists and tvprogrames in my magazine.
