About Us• Aryatech, Inc, based in Houston, Texas and locations in India, are headed by Tarun Rewari, a graduate in
Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture and holds a license of Chief Engineer.
• Tarun Rewari has over 30 years of experience in the Marine and Offshore related fields. After sailing on ships
as a Marine Engineer, he worked as an Engineer and Ship Surveyor with the Mercantile Marine Dept., Govt.
of India. Subsequently, he worked as Deputy General Manager with Reliance shipping in Mumbai followed
with as Technical manager with various shipping companies in the United States.
• He joined Zentech Inc. Houston, an Offshore Design and Engineering Consultancy Company. He was
responsible for establishing Zentech India Marine & Offshore Services Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai as a subsidiary of
Zentech, Inc. USA. He developed it into a mid size company and held the post of Managing Director for five
years. During this period, he performed work for major US Drilling contractors and Indian Rig owners.
During his tenure with Zentech, he also developed the Shipping division which owned and operated vessels
trading worldwide.
• Then from 2003 until 2007, he worked for The American Bureau of Shipping in the corporate office in
Houston, Texas in the Safety, Environment & Security Certification Group as a ISPS and SQE Lead Auditor
& as a Senior Engineer in the Technology Group and in the Ship Engineering Department.

• RIGMAN.OFF is an Excel application involving several workbooks with multiple
worksheets, and two DOS applications called ORCAMOOR and AQWA-RISER.
ORCAMOOR is developed by Orcina Consulting Engineers, Ltd. in the U.K to analyze
the static behavior of arrays of catenary lines mooring a vessel. AQWA-RISER is
developed by WS Atkins Engineering Software in the UK. It is a frequency domain
program to analyze riser behavior. RIGMAN.OFF has been developed by Stewart
Technology Associates (STA) Houston, Texas. Development has been partly funded by
BP.

coupled with dynamic riser analysis. It is easy to use with simple pointing and
clicking of a mouse. The offshore user has to put in very few variables since
the complete mooring array and riser model is built for him onshore.

• Using RIGMAN, the offshore crew can plan mooring adjustments in advance of
heavy weather. The rig position can be set to permit safe drilling in the present
environment, but not necessarily directly over the hole. However, when the forecast
environment hits, the rig position will be such that safe drilling can continue
without further mooring adjustments.

• The program may simply be used for assessing and storing barge hydrostatics and
stability for any load case. However, it is intended to do this while simultaneously
investigating lift case scenarios where the crane limits are also determined.
• The barge hydrostatics characteristics are pre-defined and re-computed every time
any data item is edited. The program provides the immediate values for the vessel
total displacement, draft (and freeboard) heel, and trim. Large angle properties are
also available showing various stability margins.

Thrustmaster of Texas, Inc. pioneered the concept of hydraulic propulsion for the
marine industry using technology originally employed in the offshore oil fields.
The hydraulic drive is extremely resistant to damage. Foreign objects ingested by the
propeller will not damage the hydraulic drive train, as the hydraulic system instantly
relieves any transmission overloads. In the case of hydraulic outdrives, the thruster
will also kick up to prevent damage to the stems. Once the obstacle has been passed
over, the outdrive can be lowered and the vessel continue on its service.

Feedback for Dynamic Positioning Systems comes from constant monitoring
of external conditions such as wind, current, and proximity to obstacles.

OverviewThe Pisys simulator system has at its core a ‘logic engine’ that generates multiple
outputs from multiple inputs in real time. Any control system can be modelled to
generate these inputs to the ‘logic engine’ and display the effects of these
changing inputs. One example would be the control systems found in any oil rig
or platform. Here there would generally be a series of screens controlling systems
such as :
•Fire & Gas
•Process Overview
•Power Generation
•Emergency Shut Down
•Well Head System
•Export Screens

Different ConfigurationsThere are 3 different configurations for the simulator. Whatever the
architecture the simulator is configured to have a Trainer system and a
Trainee system. The 3 different configurations are given below:-
1. Full 3-D Motion Simulation - A dedicated Trainee control room
simulating the same room in the rig or other environment being
simulated, mounted on a moving platform controlled by hydraulic rams
that simulate the effect of the sea. Severe weather effects can therefore
be simulated. This system also provides realistic temperature control and
sound effects again increasing the level of realism.

Different Configurations(Contd..)2. Fixed Control Room- The next level of system is similar to that
above only the Trainee room is not on a moving platform. The
room would closely resemble the simulated environment.
3. Portable System - The simplest option is to run the system on
any number of PC’s or laptops in a standard training room. The
minimum setup would be run on just 2 laptops – one for the
trainer and one for the trainee although the level of realism here
is obviously much reduced. In theory even a single laptop could
be used but then the Trainer cannot make changes to the system
in real time to test the Trainee.
