Art’s is an established business, the brief is to create a sub brand which would work with there current image. Instead of having a set of colours associated with the brand, art’s coffee uses natural materials giving the brand and authentic edge.

With all the packaging been natural brown colours, i wanted to really make the different kinds of coffee to stand out. The colours are picked especially for a certain blend of coffee to help the customer get and idea of the types of flavours they will experience.

ProcessesMaterial: 6mm ply wood Hessian fabric Light brown paper based packaging

The PackagingThe packaging is designed to be practical for both the customer and the art’s coffee employees. Each packaging comes with a detachable tag which can be removed from the packaging and placed onto the art’s coffee container so there is a reference what coffee you are drinking even when you throw the packaging away.

Each tag explains the flavours and strength of the coffee; the colours are picked to emphasize the given flavours and as a good reference for the customer when they want to by the same blend. The tags are held in place with photo-corners making it very easy to slide them on and off.

ProcessesMaterial: - vacuum sealed light brown packaging - Vinyl stickers for the labels - Thick gloss stock used for tags

Despite the use of different materials, colours and printing techniques I feel like the range has come together really well. The range consists of 2 coffee packets, a coffee container, small sacks containing chocolate covered coffee beans, vanilla syrup, carrier bags for the shop, and a box to send coffee via online orders.

The BoxThe coffee container is made form 6 mm ply wood with the front and top made from lazer cut acrylic. It’s easy to use and with the tall 1 serving spoon you can have perfect coffee measurements. The box will be used as a promotional gift when Online users when they subscribe to receive 2 bags of arts coffee monthly. It helps keep you coffee fresh and with the transferable tags it makes it an ideal accessory for the coffee drinker.

Distribution will be tackled in store and also Online. The theme for the distribution is using the hessian fabric to make give an authentic feel to the brand. Its a reference to the sacks of coffee beans we are familiar with making it seem more natural and fresher.

Online DistributionOnline people can subscribe to a monthly delivery of new coffee blends or choose to have there favourites sent out. To make receiving a package more of and experience the box is wrapped in the hessian fabric. This adds more character and excitement in receiving art’s coffee products.

In StoreCustomers can come choose from a range of different blends of coffee and also pick out coffee related treats like the chocolate covered coffee beans and vanilla syrup. Again adding to the experience hessian bag have been made to house the bought products.
