nI'm illustrator and graphic designer. Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts by the Polythecnic University of Valencia (2011).

This portfolio is about illustrations and differents graphic projects that I've realized between 2008 and 2014.

I've rated the works by projects and themes to enliven the reading of the portfolio. There is a link on the cover of each section (in the upper left) from which you can return to the index.

Drawing has always been my weakness. The pencil, graphite, is the basis for all my work. I use it from the sketch to the finished drawing. But you can find that I often use other techniques such as watercolor, oil, mixed media or digital treatment (one of my favorites). In this portfolio I’ve also included photographic works, installations and videos.

The description of each work is in English and Spanish. Beside the works I’ve included some icons to indicate the tools I’ve used.

Soy ilustradora y diseñadora gráfica, Licenciada en Bellas Artes por la Universidad Politécnica de

Valencia (2011).

El presente portfolio se centra en ilustraciones y diversos proyectos gráficos que he realizado

entre el año 2008 y el 2014.

He clasificado las obras por proyectos y temas para amenizar la lectura del portfolio. En la portada de cada sección encontrará un enlace (en la esquina superior izquiera) desde el que

podrá regresar al índice.

El dibujo siempre ha sido mi debilidad. El lápiz, el sencillo grafito, es la base para toda mi obra. Desde el boceto hasta el dibujo acabado, aunque comprobará que en muchas ocasiones utilizao otras técnicas como la acuarela, el óleo, técnica mixta o el tratamiento digital (una de mis preferidas). Pero también incluyo trabajos

fotográficos, instalaciones y cortometrajes.

La descripción que acompaña a cada trabajo está en inglés y castellano. Junto a muchas de las piezas aparecerán unos iconos que indican

Valkyrie Project is a terrible science fiction story that satirizes

the fight between sexes in a grotesque future under the fascism

government of the Valkyries. The story is about a group of free

men and women who figh to survive and defeat the Valkirie

Empire. They are persecuted for the Black Eagles, the imperial

army. They should infiltrate in the big cities of the empire to

destroy it from within.

Almost all works are pencil drawings and watercolor. Once I

have scanned them, I work with them in Photoshop. Some of

the Valkyrie Project works have been exhibited in Onírica Venus

(Centro Municipal Mesón de Morella, Valencia). Other draws

have formed the exhibitions The Last Metropolis and System

Has Failed. The three exhibitions were in Valencia, Spain.

El Proyecto Valkiria es una terrible historia de ciencia ficción que satiriza la lucha entre sexos en el futuro bajo el gobierno fascista de las Valkirias. La historia relata como un grupo de hombres y mujeres libres tratan de sobrevivir y derrotar al Imperio de las Valkirias. Perseguidos por las Águilas Negras, el ejército imperial, deberán infiltrarse en las grandes metrópolis del imperio para destruirlo desde dentro.

La mayoría de los dibujos son a lápiz y acuarela. Una vez escaneados, los trato en Photoshop. Algunas de las obras las expuse en Onírica Venus (Centro Municipal de Juventud Mesón de Morella, Valencia). Otras, han formado las exposiciones La Últimas Metrópolis y System Has Failed. Las tres, en Valencia.

Currently, Valkyrie Project is in two books and a

third in progress. The first (make in 2009) is an

introduction: The Valkyrie Organization appears

and rises until get the power. The second book

(2010) begins with the Resistance, headed by

brother Victor del Valle and Enma Wallace. With

a militian army to ambush the Xx city and the

infiltrated women who work to destroy the Valkyrie

government, they will try to get the victory.

Actualmente el Proyecto Valkiria consta de dos libros. El primero, realizado en el 2009 es una introducción en la que aparece la Organización Valkiria y como durante el siglo XXI consigue alcanzar el poder. El segundo libro, del 2010, comienza con la Resistencia, liderada por Enma Wallace y Victor del Valle. Con un ejercito miliciano preparado para emboscar la metrópolis Xx y las infiltradas, mujeres de la resistencia que trabajan desde destruir el imperio, lucharán por su supervivencia.

The images seduce but not by lustfulness but

for oddities and improbabilities. The confusion

seizes conscience. There’s a dichotomy in

observer’s mind between reality and fiction, lust

and confusion. I desire to scratch the social

topics that have been strengthened over the

years.

Confundir. Completar la mente del espectador con disparatadas imágenes que perviertan su sentido sobre lo estricto. Causar un desbarajuste en los tópicos. Flexibilizar la mitología femenina. Atrapar la mirada del observador por el erotismo y la dulzura de ciertas imágenes que en realidad le seducen no por su concupiscencia sino por sus rarezas e inverosimilitudes. La confusión se apodera de la conciencia y se establece una dicotomía en la mente del observador entre la realidad y la ficción; la concupiscencia y el desconcierto. Arañar los tópicos sociales que durante años se ha fortalecido.

photoshopI made "Pardon my French" for the exhibition

Terranova, presented in London (December

2013) by the art collective Black Leg. A reflection

about London like a stage on which to build a

life.

The parks of Terranova are full of pigeons and

workers at lunch time. All of them are carrion

animals that eat scraps on the dump…and

Terranova is getting fat.

Realicé "Pardón my French" para la exposición Terranova, presentada en Londres en Diciembre del 2013 por el colectivo artístico Black Leg. Una reflexión sobre Londres como escenario sobre el que construir una vida.

Los parques de Terranova están llenos de palomas y trabajadorea a la hora de comer. Todos son animales carroñeros que deboran desechos en la basura... y Terranova está engordando.

Science Fiction, fantasy, bits of humor, irony

and terror. In this section, “Wildest Dream”, I

mix different narrative projects. The sirens and

spiders were originally part of “Onírica Venus”.

“Vampires of Barcelona”, I'm currently developing

this proyect: terror for children, tale for adults.

“Champ Rock”, humor for an animated serie.

And some portraits form a chapter in progress.

Ciencia ficción, fantasía, retazos de humor, ironía y terror. En este apartado, “Wildest Dream”, se mezclan diversos proyectos narrativos. Sirenas y arañas que en un principio formaron parte de “Onírica Venus”. “Vampiros de Barcelona”, el proyecto que en la actualidad estoy desarrollando: terror para niños, cuento para adultos. “Champ Rock”, humor para una serie de animación. Y algunos retratos conforman un capítulo en pleno desarrollo.

The poor neighborhoods of 1820 in

Barcelona have one superstition: the legend

of La Sacamantecas. Children are hidden in

homes but... in time of famine and darkness,

the orphans fall under the deception of

Doña Enriqueta. They couldn’t see behind

the friendly appearance of the chestnuts

seller. In fact, she is La Sacamantecas.

Fiction and reality are mixed in this horror

story. Corruption, Fear, and Revenge give

breath at the characters in this fictional

Barcelona.

All of them end up being vampires. Vampires

of Barcelona inspired by fear of death and

old age.

Los barrios bajos de una lóbrega Barcelona de 1820 sucumben por el temor a una oscura superstición: la leyenda de La Sacamantecas. Los niños son escondidos en los hogares pero en una época de hambruna y tinieblas, los huérfanos caen bajo el engaño de Doña Enriqueta. No podían suponer que tras la apariencia de aquella afable vendedora de castañas se ocultase la temible Sacamantecas.

Ficción y realidad se mezclan en una historia de terror. Corrupción, Miedo, y Venganza se nutren de los personajes hasta convertirlos en Vampiros de esta ficticia Barcelona.

“Champ Rock” is a project about a cartoon serie. Set in a rock and

roll bar of a small city of Galicia (Spain). It is a parody about clichés

surrounding culture of rock and roll and heavy metal music.

"La estudiante de Salamanca" (The student of Salamanca) is

a horror tale. It's about Gustavo, a boy obsessed with having

a brother. The story is written in prose, with illustrations and

some parts narrated in comic format.

Las vanguardias artísticas han sido decisivas para el comportamiento del arte contemporáneo. La innovación y renovación radical derribaron las barreras y abrieron nuevos espectros en los que el imaginario humano se ha abierto camino entre críticas, detractores y …también amantes. Por ello, los bastidores. Los andamios sobre los que se construye el arte contemporáneo. Sin aquella ruptura, hoy sería imposible. En los travesaños de los bastidores aparecen frases de algunos de los manifiestos de las vanguardias: futurismo, dadaísmo, surrealismo y cubismo.

The avant-gardes have been crucial to get

the actual behaviour of contemporary art.

Innovation and radical renewal have broken

barriers and have opened a new horizon.

The new paths have built between reviews,

critics and...lovers. Without this explosion,

contemporary art would be impossible

today. In the wood racks there are phrases

of several manifestos of avant-gardes:

Futurism, Dadaims, Surrealism and Cubism.

“El linaje intimidado” representa los puñales de una familia convencional. Las dagas esgrimidas tras la puerta cerrada. El homicidio invisible que no aparece más que en la mirada. Estos hogares no salen en el telediario, no tienen sangre derramada en el pasillo, ni huele a gas en las escaleras. Estos puñales los conocemos todos. Son el día a día de cualquier familia. La instalación son seis cuchillos de cocina. “Regalo de Bodas” completa la instalación.

Bullied Bloodline represents

I talk about the homicide

"Baraja Ventura" is an installation of seven pannels.

I've simulated a deck of strip poker. I’ve created it

for an exhibition of Calcsivova and was showed in

two exhibitions of the AIDS Asociation (in Valencia

and Madrid). "Baraja Ventura" presents the life as

a game. We can not know the real identity of all

people we meet but we must keep playing because

is the magic of life.

We only be careful and prevent the adversities in

our hands.

Baraja Ventura es una instalación de siete paneles que simula una enorme baraja de Strip Poker. La obra la cree para Calcsicova y fue expuesta en varias exposiciones de la asociación en Valencia y Madrid. Baraja Ventura presenta la vida como un juego de azar. No podemos conocer la identidad de todas las personas con las que nos relacionamos, pero no por ello debemos dejar de jugar. Sólo debemos ser ciudadosos y tomas las medidas que estén en nuestras manos.

to scare viewer about human future.

It’s a big printed science fiction

image. It isn’t a retouched image. I’ve

scanned pork brain and USB cable to

get this result. iEcceHomo is a moral

warning about what could happen us

in a few years. It’s a grotesque image

with several referents: the short story

“The Man Who Evolved ” by Edmond

Hamilton, “The Ringworld Engineers”

by Larry Niven, social networks, brain

stimulation implantation and e-drugs.

iEcceHomo es una metáfora que trata de asustar al espectador con una esperpéntica imagen sobre su futuro. Es una pieza de ciencia ficción. Una inmensa imagen impresa, pero no retocada. Para crear iEcceHomo he escaneado sesos de cerdo y un cable USB. iEcceHomo es una advertencia moral de lo que podria sucedernos en algunos años. Tiene varios referentes: "El hombre que evolucionó" de Edmond Hamilton, "Los ingenieros del Mundo Anillo" de Latty Niven, los implantes de estimulación cerebral, las redes sociales y las e-drugs.
