Sure, she’s a little cocky and confident but that’s part of who she is. With her new album dropping and her new number one single feat K2, her debut album is topping the charts and taking us by storm. In an exclusive interview Jae-B told us “straight up I am an independent woman, I am self-motivated and slightly self-centred but this is the way you have to be”. She has a new focus on making her mark and has had a packed year as her fan base has grown rapidly. She is following in the footsteps of Nicki Minaj and is beginning to make a change in the Hip-Hop industry. While an exclusive interview gives us an insight into the simplicity of Jae-B’s life I’m focusing on her new album and how she will take a hit this year.

Jae-B is working on her up and coming debut album and is relishing the high expectations that have come with collaborating with other stars. “I was nervous as hell…” recalls Jae-B. After wanting to show not just the UK but the world her new ways Jae-B expressed her true feelings through the love of music. After signing a new one year deal with Columbia Records, Jae-B released Paperwork, and lukewarmly received #2 in the charts within the UK but hit the lowest sale mark of her career. Jae-B tells us “It was a huge knock back for me but this is why I’ve come back with collaboration. I feel I need to show people a side to me which they haven’t seen yet, it’s all still me but just a little different”. With her collab to hit the charts sometime this year she is hoping it will help rejuvenate her, as she is certainly still capable of performing at a high level. Although she has told us “I feel all this is a good kind of pressure and will only push me further, as I’ve said before I am my own person and I am strong but everyone has feelings but you have to find a way of dealing with it and moving forward”. Although she usually opts to not talk about the negative, she has revealed more into her life- which to us, came as a surprise. Jae-B told us that is has been a hard start to the year but nothing will stop her. With a new start Jae-B feels she can take on the world. Its this social responsibility that has Jae-B’S self-esteem so high. Not only is she demonstrating impressive mind set and attitude but her debut album feat K2 is set to top the charts and become a world outbreak. She feels K2 has added something to her album which no one else could. “yeah he’s a cool guy, his chilled vibe helped relax me but push me to my best. I can’t thank him enough, I know our hard work will pay off this year, I’m confident of that..” Her strong willed vibe and hardworking attitude is set to pay off.

The most important aspect that Jae-B feels is that her music is relatable to her listeners. “I just want to let people know that we are all on the same level even if some things do change, why wouldn’t you want to radiate happiness and success?” Although this time round she felt the album making was something different and challenging, Jae-B still finds what she does therapeutic, particularly when it comes to writing in her own home. While she might be misunderstood to be egotistical, she finds herself enjoying what she does more and stays focused all the time. “I think we all have egos, but sometimes you have to realise that it’s time to put that to the side and focus and take control. I really appreciate everything that’s happened to me and I learn from that…”

The new album which will be entitled Influential is planned to set Jae-B as well as her featuring act K2 is a triumphant year. Jae-B has recently focused on a new sound as she explains she wants people to understand her music and know her for her. While recording her new sound her mentors Jiggy and Justine couldn’t quite gage how Jae-B’s work would fit in. After several weeks and months

of changing sounds and editting music they found a way to make it work. She told us “its all about being different while being yourself all at the same time”.

With a simple effective ethos that she has shared with her fans over the years, Jae-B feels this will be the year that she turns heads and gets people talking. Destined to spread herself across not only the UK but worldwide she is set dn focused on being at the top of her game. As she would say “the golden chilld”
