Background – Enforcement The Article 29 Data Protection Working Party (“WP29”), comprised of the European Data Protection Authorities (“DPAs”), has adopted on July 13, 2010 a report (the “Report”) on the European Union Data Retention Directive 2006/24/EC (“D.R. Directive”). This report is the WP29’s contribution to the evaluation of the implementation of the D.R. directive by the European Commission, which is due by September 15, 2010.
