Key People
Fernand Leger (1881—1955) was a French
painter, sculptor and filmmaker. His artwork
was inspired by modern industrial
technology. He painted machines using bold
colours.
Clive Gardiner (1891—1960) was a well-
known poster designer and illustrator. He
created posters for London Transport. Clive
used a printing technique called lithography.
