The venues all have a location number; these can be found to the righthand side of the artist's name on each listing.

Welcome to the EVAN Art Trail 2018

Welcome to the 2nd EVAN Art Trail and Directory of artists. Our first yearof existence 2017 saw great progress in promoting and developinglocal artists. We now have 120 members and are working with artists inAllerdale, Copeland and Carlisle Districts as well as Eden.

The Art Trail maps should guide you to artist venues, look out forwooden orange arrows with black ART TRAIL writing. Artists will help youwith directions to the next artist and also to good local eateries, whereyou can have a brew or lunch! After the Trail this directory will guideyou to artists who are working all year.

We are a selfmanaged, not for profit, voluntary organization thatencourages artists to get fully involved in projects.

In the last year we have built great working relationships with EdenDistrict Council, Allerdale District Council and Penrith Town Council. Thishas led to opening a Gallery and Studios at No.4 Corney Place,Penrith, CA11 7PX and a new Penrith Arts Festival incorporating ‘Artistsin Penrith’.

We have many ideas to develop projects in the next 5 years and aimto grow our influence to ensure local artists are fully supported. Please come and visit artists and spend time with them, they willencourage your own creativity, many artists run workshops.

T: 07572434034 E: [email protected] in Penrith, I am largely a self taught painter, though Istudied fashion in Gloucestershire and Yorkshire. I am absorbedby the mountains and the ever changing feelings and colours. Imainly work in Acrylics, but I like to experiment with differentmaterials and textures exploring impressionist styles to give apalpable sense of the power of nature. My motivation is toproduce works that other people appreciate and want to hang intheir home. My goal is to inspire people to look more carefully atthe world around them and find beauty in unusual places.

Alex is particularly influenced by the shapes, textures and effectsmade by the line of the North Pennines. She uses her response toher surroundings to explore our relationship with the land. Musicand horses are also a strong part of her life and she uses elementsof these to inform her use of colour, markmaking andcomposition.
