F R O M T H E EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Thank you to the friends and patrons of the Schauer Arts Center for all the support you have given “our” organization this past year. I use the word “our” because I truly think of us as a family working together for the good of our community.  This year we welcomed over 12,000 students to our Schooltime Matinee performances. Not only were these added educational resources for our schools, but it introduced many students to live theater for the first time. We think this is very important as we look at sustaining theater and the arts into the future.  We also had the opportunity and joy of working with hundreds of young people who attended our Schauer School of the Arts for classes in dance, theater, music and visual arts. Many past students have told us what an impact the SSA has had on their lives both as aspiring artists and in their adult careers.   Lastly, I hope you found something incredible in our 2017–18 season of stage performances. The most fun I’ve ever had was being able to pick the performers for the Schauer Arts Center’s season schedule. Now we’re ready to launch our 2018–19 season of “Art, Soul & Rock and Roll.” So grab your dancing shoes and get ready to sing along . . . it’s going to be a blast!

NEW! IMPROVED! And even better than it was before it got to be as good as it is now!By popular demand and critical acclaim, the award-winning Hartford Players’ smash-hit musical revue is back with all new material! Returning to the punny pinnacle of Pikes Peak, you’ll have a blast as they wow you with their witty wackiness. Steam away the winter chill with a hot new lineup of hilarious songs and comedy routines that will leave you laughing ‘til your sides hurt. The hand-picked cast of Wisconsin’s finest talent will bring you songs and skits from the best comedy theater writers in NYC and crazy new laughs from the Players’ in-house madcap musical mercenaries. Featuring live accompaniment from the Comicality All-Star Band and a bar that’s even more open than ever before,

you won’t want to miss a minute of the libation-laced lunacy!

Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, Guys and Dolls is an oddball romantic comedy. Gambler, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result. Guys and Dolls takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong.
