The Shenfeld Tel Aviv Gallery is a main attraction in this art-hunter’s heaven. The selection of Shenfeld Judaica and jewelry on display reflects quality and originality. Visitors who are seeking an elegant gift, a momento of Israel or an expression of Jewish identity will find many tempting options in the galleries.

The worksShenfeld Judaica is handcrafted from sterling silver, anodized aluminum, brass or stainless steel.Shenfeld jewelry is handcrafted from gold, silver, precious and semi precious stones. The jewelry is designed to enhance the beauty of the metal and stones and to enrich the elegance of the wearer. The objects and jewels are often designed to be multi-functional, such as a sculpture that converts to a Hanukka menorah and then to Sabbath candelabrum or a necklace that transfoms into a set of bracelets or a chain clasp that may be worn as a brooch.

The artistsBorn in Brazil, Emil Shenfeld immigrated to Israel in 1978. His engineering degree proved to be a valuable knowledge base for his studies at Jerusalem’s world-renowned Bezalel Academy of Art & Design.Over the past three decades, Emil has designed and executed Judaica objects

that draw on his engineering skills and artistic genius. His works are part of permanent collections of museums and have been featured in numerous exhibitions across the world, including the United States, Germany, Holland, France, Japan and Israel. Emil’s works are an innovative fusion of tradition, sculptural dynamism, and functionality.Suzi Shenfeld immigrated to Israel from Morocco as a child. After majoring in Philosophy at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Suzi devoted herself to weaving, studying at the Israel Museum and working at her private studio producing tapestries and garments as well. Exposed to Emil’s work, it was natural for her to start experimenting with metal, becoming a self taught goldsmith and jewelry designer. Suzi creates jewelry since 1990. Inspired by fashion, art and graphic design, Suzi creates jewellery that she would like to wear: feminine, elegant and hip.

The artists’ questFor Emil and Suzi, design is a process of constant soul searching as well as a conscious analysis. It is the quest for an aesthetic and functional statement induced by a passionate attraction for an apparently simple and unsophisticated shape, the observation of an innocent but interesting effect, and the recognition of the beauty of a traditional ritual. They believe that design also involves the obstinate research of an initial and raw idea that evolves into a sculptural and functional object through the exploration of the geometric nature of a form.It also encompasses the study of its

purpose, and the understanding of its aesthetic, symbolic and personal significance. In their work, they strive to develop a coherent and consistent language rooted in their love for geometry and logic, the magnetism of positive and negative spaces, their fascination with objects that assemble and dismantle changing their configuration, function and meaning. They are guided by the assertion that less is more, that purity and simplicity lead to beauty, grace and elegance.Ultimately, they seek the enjoyment of celebrating tradition, beauty and design.

Safrai Fine Art Gallery started way back in 1935, even before the state of Israel was born. Even then, we were bringing works of Israeli artists to museums and private collections, and proved to be authorities, whether in Israeli art, or international art.

If you are interested in seeing the most interesting and important Israeli art, one place not to be missed is the Safrai Fine Art Gallery.

We represent exclusively many well-known Israeli artists as well as newcomers in the recent wave of immigrants from the former U.S.S.R.
