Sometimes unforeseen circumstances endanger our artistic traditions.

So we must work to ensure that our artistic inheritance is preserved and maintained through collaboration, education, and promotion.

Art Guardian is dedicated to the preservation of the arts in cultures with arts traditions in danger of disappearing and folk crafts that are seldom acknowledged.

Through the execution of collaborative arts projects, emphasis is placed on the fact that the potential loss of various artistic traditions is at the expense of us all; not just one specific group of people.

My name is Tracie Thornton and I'm an artist. During my travels I've had the privilege to be exposed to many different cultures and their respective artistic traditions. I've been some places where indigenous arts were all but fading and the idea for Art Guardian was

born.

Not only am I an artist with extensive non-profit experience but I have a profound and deep respect for cultures other than my own. I believe there is a lot to be learned from these art traditions that we may not hear about as much as others. They need to be given a voice and I am willing to work to make sure these cultures are seen and heard.
