WIth 30 years in business, Arora continues to grow at a rapid pace and appears on Inc. 5000 list of America’s Fastest Growing Companies. Headquartered in Chadds Ford, PA, just outside of Philadelphia, Arora maintains locations in major cities like Boston, New York, San Jose, Atlanta, and Charlotte. You can see their work all over the country from in places like the Philadelphia Airport to Grand Central Station. Bridgework, runway lighting, and security systems are all part of a day’s work for Arora so when it came to planning the expansion of their corporate offices, one would think that this would be an easy task for Arora to take on. Not so much. Arora had the daunting task of trying to find a match for some high-end Knoll cubicles and Steelcase desks. Maintaining a consistent look across the new and old parts of the office was a top priority. SInce the original office was completed in 2008, finding matching furniture proved to be a challenge. Outfitting the whole office with new furniture would cost as much as $14,000 per desk and $25,000 per cubicle which would bring the total price tag to well over one million dollars. That simply wasn’t an option. The goal was to find used high-quality furniture from the same designer that would blend in with the existing floor plan. After shopping around, Arnold’s kept coming up as a solution. “It was the architect, Nayan Shah (who found Arnold’s), but what I realized is that there were other people we were dealing with around the country who were buying from you,” recalls Manik Arora, CEO of Arora Engineers. Not only is Arnold’s one of the nation’s largest used furniture companies but Arnold’s is also a large liquidator of used, high-end furniture from Fortune 500 companies. Having just completed a large-scale liquidation from Bank of America, Arnold’s was able to pro- vide high-end products to blend in nicely with the existing furniture. Once the deal was done, Arnold’s immediately started refurbishing the furniture which involves cleaning, sanding, repainting and preparing for an installation that would take place over several days. The furniture was loaded onto our trailers in like-new condition for same-day delivery. Arnold’s does it all so you don’t have to. Like many of our custom- ers, Manik. “When we bought directly from you, other people were like, well, you cut us out!, Manik laughs. And then I came out to the office and your warehouse a few times, and I got a good sense, I saw the shop, I saw the painting shop, and I liked that. I saw the operation and it was good.” Once complete, Arnold’s expert installation team successfully furnished Arora’s new office area with 28 Knoll Autostrada cherry wood cubicles, 62 used Herman Miller Aeron Chairs, one of the most iconic office chairs in the industry, 15 used Steelcase mahogany wood desks as well as some customized furniture, a granite conference table, lunch tables and guest chairs. What could have easily turned into a project totalling $2 million was completed for under $200K. The “New” furniture looks so great that Manik half-jokingly claims that the original half of the office is now called “The Junk Area.” Arnold’s is pleased to have such a satisfied client and we are looking forward to our next Arora project. We’ll be furnishing their Boston office in historic Faneuil Hall sometime this Spring! CASE STUDY Arora Engineers, Inc.
