1959 Ohio Track Club - Girls Track and Field• Columbus Girls Track and Field Meet

at OSU hosted by Parks & Recs.

• Girls Team competes and wins the National Track and Field Championships in 1962

• Lorimer named Chairman of the U.S. Olympic Committee for Women’s Athletics

• 1970 Lorimer invites Schwarzenegger to Columbus to compete in the Mr. World

• Schwarzenegger wins and vows to return to promote bodybuilding

• 1976-1986 Schwarzenegger and Lorimer produce the Mr. Olympia contest six times

• 1989 First Arnold Classic held

• 1993 EXPO added• 1994 Ms. Fitness International added• 1996 Martial Arts added• 2000 Cheerleading added• 2001 Gymnastics, Pump & Run added• 2006 Rebranded as Arnold Sports Festival• 2011 Arnold goes International

1990 Schwarzenegger appointed chairman of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Charges Lorimer to expand scope and include more sports.
