Recycling is a widely-used and a commonly known term of the modern throwaway society, where many perfectly good materials end up sitting in a landfill while new materials are constantly created and used in their place.

It is actually the processing of the used materials (waste) into new products to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, to reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, to reduce energy usage, to reduce air pollution (from incineration) and water pollution (from land filling) by reducing the need for "conventional" waste disposal.

Recycling is a key component of modern waste reduction and is the third component of the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" Waste Hierarchy.

Page 7: Army Public School

AimsTo enable students to build up a greater understanding of where and how they can contribute to changes in environmental issues within the educational institution.

To raise awareness that recycling provides a path to a greener future and working for it can be a lot of fun.
