Employee of the Year

Congratulations to Arkansas Valley Electric’s Employee of the Year for 2014, Chris Howe. He was selected for this honor by his fellow employees and given the award at the cooperative’s annual employee banquet.

On receiving the award, Chris commented, “I feel very honored to have received an award that was voted on by my co-workers.”

Chris began his career at Arkansas Valley Electric in 2008 as an intern while attending college. He has been employed full time as an Applications Engineer since May 2013.

“Since joining us full time, Chris has been focusing on improving the cooperatives’ outage management system,” says Manager of Engineering, Shawn Walling. “Chris’ contributions to the Engineering Department are helping make AVECC’s system more reliable by reducing the number of outages and shortening the duration of power interruption.”

Chris has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arkansas. He and his wife Melody have triplet daughters: Autumn, Brylee, and Callie. Chris’ hobbies include family activities, hunting, and enjoying time outdoors.
