The fantasy genre has dominated the bestsellers lists, movie theatres, and museum exhibits. Fantasy provides an escape from the fast paced days, and fills the void of emotionless communication with nostalgia, surrealism, and a way for self expression.

Fantasy is a growing genre that allows people to escape from the stress of everyday life, like a sultry night.

Lingerie and jewelry are categories of women’s fashionthat are purchased for the emotional connection. Women wear both because it makes them feel better about themselves and their beauty. The growing closeness of lingerie as clothing, jewelry, and high embellishment is causing designers to blur the lines of these categories and fuse the different classifications.

Sultry Fantasy: Concept/Trends

Sultry Fantasy is a luxury fantasy collection, fusing lingerie and jewelry, and filling the needs of emotion, nostalgia, and surrealism.

Knitwear Design: ConceptTo create a knit pattern mocking an organictexture. Using seaweed as a muse, I created a garment mimicking it’s stable yet fluid nature.

Handpainted merino wool knitted into a lace tank using a standard knitting machine. The entire tank is surrounded by complete crochet hems including the straps. The two side back panels are knitted cords strung into a non repeating organic patterrn to compliment the front and center back lace panels.

Technology Filter:As technology continues to grow to meet a consumer expectation of new innovations we will begin to see the boundaries between what is real and what isn’t blur. With technology and social media continually growing our need to filter our world through the technology at our finger tips becomes an everyday task of documentation and proof of life.

Synergetic: Opportunity/PersonaTo design a line of jewelry that is infused with technology, as the new consumer can’t go without seeing their world through technology, sharing and documenting their lives. This new line will allow them to be even closer to their over connected and enhanced reality.

Jillian is a young professional currently work-ing her first job at a magazine as the Assistant Art Director. She is very connected to her world through every gadget and technology device she can get her hands on. She loves to spend time in the city and continuously views the world through a camera or a video camera documenting every aspect of her life. Anytime she is seen out and about, her phone will be found in one hand and a camera in the other. To make her style of life easier she is constantly looking for the newest and greatest technology updates, while still keeping fashionable, that have to do with life documentation and social media.

There will be three different finishes offered: brushed titanium, silver plated and gold plated. Both of the plated finishes will be polished and then the brushed titanium will give a more matte finish option.

Future options may include a rose gold plating, a hypoallergenic copper colored plating, and a tungsten carbide finish.

Betsey Johnson Diffusion Line: ConceptDesigning a diffusion line for an already established brand. Venturing into a market that could be feasable and work with the brand type, but not one the brand has already established themselves in.

I designed a diffusion line based on Betsey Johnson in a new category that fits for her as a designer and as a brand. Compression medicalwear is a large market not completely in the fashion world but could be, with more and more people needing these types of knit compression garments for day to day life.

To design a women’s wear line of functional medical wear, with specific focus on compression garments, inspired by the fun, flirty and eclectic personality of Betsy Johnson’s brand.

Working with a large industry for eyewear we (myself and two classmates) created solutions to the problems of fit currentlt found in the eyewear industry.

With the United States becoming a melting pot of races and ethnicities it has become a challenge to design a pair of glasses that become a one pair fits all.

The nose shape varies from face to face. In eyewear, the glasses must accomodate width and height to ensure a comfortable fit.

The cheeks are mostly a challenge with the Asian population since there is a smaller distance between their nose and cheeks. This means the nose pads must be built up more to sit away from their cheeks.

The temple length is a large variant between sexes and races. This needs to be accounted for to ensure the glasses have a perfect fit.
