Arel Architects, Inc., founded in Maryland in 1991, is an experienced full-service firm specializing in ar-chitectural design, space planning and construction management. Our staff of thirteen includes five pro-fessional architects who are licensed in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. We are a firm that is committed to the belief that excellence in design and on-schedule production of construction documenta-tion are the key factors in all successful projects. The firm has grown from a one-man office in a slow econ-omy to two full-time offices, providing A/E Services to both the public and private sectors.

Arel Architects, Inc. has a successful performance record providing quality services to local governments in the Washington Metropolitan area, especially Prince

George's County; as well as faith based organizations, hospitals, utility companies, corporate oil and retail com-panies and Federal government agencies.

We have provided CAD production and digitizing services on many projects and are familiar with the latest technological developments in the CAD arena. We are also proficient in utilizing the Building Infor-mation Modeling (BIM) process with software such as Revit and Archicad. These tools assist in generating three-dimensional representations which enhance our presentations to the client and the community. With these technologies and know-how, we are capable of meeting the project timetable and producing excellent quality documentation.

Building an experience

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the latest software technology tool being utilized to bring greater efficiency, ac-curacy, and understanding to the design process. It is a tool that was developed for the auto and aerospace industries to improve efficiency in the design and manufacturing process. In its application to the building industry, it has brought revo-lutionary visualization and rendering capabilities allowing clients to see their design unfold in virtual reality.

AREL has considerable experience utilizing Building Infor-mation Modeling (BIM) technology. AREL has completed several projects using Archicad software to prepare con-struction documents including a 2,500 seat sanctuary

complex, a mixed-use development, a senior living facility and multi-family housing units. We also utilize software such as Sketchup, Revit, and Adobe Photoshop which enable the client to clearly understand the design and character of the proposed building prior to construction. AREL has been at the forefront using new technologies for many years and continues to stay in front of cutting edge technology methods to enhance our services.

Since January 2001, Arel has been instrumental in assisting the EDC to identify an architectural theme for each CARE Area, and to create a level of confidence to encourage private investment to take place. Arel has conducted over 70 exterior property assess-ments for businesses in the above mentioned CARE Program areas.
