The Circlers of Area 2 are truly the dazzling angels of LC India for they touch every aspect of Circling in the best possible way.Area 2 has given us numerous laudable President’s , NOB’s , outstanding circlers and very active floor circlers. They have enriched the movement with their spirit of bonding, caring, compassion and creativity. It is indeed a privilege to be among this power house of circling. Outgoing ACP Cr. I actually had a home away from home with u in Chennai. I cherish my every moment spent with you and Thank God for the gift of an amazing friend for life to me. I cherished meeting and spending time with every circler of Area2. As my association with Area2 goes a long way it was great to reconnect with old friends too. Area2 has time and again given beautiful gems to the National board. It has been lovely journey working with each of them, I take the opportunity to wish Cr. Trupti Sayani great success as she continues her duties as the Secretriat Convener,Cr.Kajal has been super meticulous as the National Coopted Trust Convener,and I am enjoying further working with Cr.Niloufer handling the trust convenership. Dear Circlers ,

I remember the day almost a year when we begun the journey and all of you gave me the honor and the privilege of adorning the most prestigious jewel of Ladies Circle area 2 . The journey took me through and gave me an opportunity to enrich myself as I came across the 10 vibrant circles of Area 2. From each I learnt ,thru each I achieved goals unimaginable ,with every success I grew and today I stand before you a completely accomplished chairperson.

Coming together was a beginning,

Keeping together was a progress

Working together is a success.

The vision I dreamt for our year was a very simple dream ,that area 2 should be shining in all aspects and we should be united as friends. The friends that I gained and the unity with which we went ahead became my strength and the team work and support of circlers enabled to achieve wonderful goals.

Girls ,as I stand at the end of a completed year I am truly humbled by the great achievements all of you have managed and made each of your dreams and my dreams a living reality.

Be it from the smallest of details of the Rirst ever area level fellowship to the graciousness with which we hosted the nex members and the nex and trust and Rinance meeting.

The ease with which we ran and hosted the national fellowship express. The fun and the learning that we took home from the all secretaries meet . The satisfaction of managing 4 area level joint projects for nearly 2 lakhs . The Rinesse with which you all executed the total projects in area 2 worth a mind boggling 2.65 crores.

It is said that there are only 365 days in a year but of one were to look at the circling fellowship calendar in area 2 he would change his or her opinion as all your girls together managed nearly 500 fellowships .

We made sure our that our dear twinklers also had a great year with events like movies , magic shows and photography classes.

All the girls at area 2 be it the caring chairpersons to the super secretaries or the amazing area conveners and the Rloor circlers of each circle ,you all have been true angels at area 2 and have helped spread the magic of amongst all you touched .

I owe a big gratitude to Cr. Mansi for the great efRiciency and the prompt reporting and follow ups through the year.

Hello everyone

It was indeed a privilege to be the face of Area 2, the face of a team which never sleeps....the face of a team which works to make a difference.....the face of a team which is constantly evolving and innova>ng.

The vibrancy of Area 2 rose to another level this year. If one member was quiet the others more than made up for the silence! If one member came forward to help, the rest were lagging behind only as they were helping others on the way!! If one decided to have a party, the others were ready with cake and caps!!

Who ever said that girls cant drink enough obviously missed the “ electric “ party, who ever said that girls are beEer off at home, obviously missed the organisa>on at the “mentalist” show, whoever said that women are BEHIND successful men , obviously missed “ sold out” cards outside circle fund raisers. People...say we are emo>onal but our emo>ons give us the strength to create awareness for safety , create Anganwadis, create secure play areas.......create HOMES to raise beau>ful children! It takes a mother to keep a child entertained BUT a circler to keep 50 of them dancing!

Kudos to every circler...every woman!

Thank you so much all the secretaries for geSng the minutes and quarter sheets to me on >me. This ensured that the chain of deadlines were met by all.

My sincere congratula>ons and thanks to ACP Shweta for her pa>ence and confidence in me.

CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES OF THE 4TH AAGM:

The 4th AGM minutes were proposed by AST Cr. Sujitha and seconded by CP Sridevi (LC 40)

PRESENTATION & APPROVAL OF THE ANNUAL REPORT OF AREA2:

AST Cr. Sujitha presented a beautiful audio visual presentation that covered all facets of circling by the 10 circles of Area2.The presentation highlighted that projects worth Rs. 1.4 crores were carried out last year!! Also featured the 11 inter circle events that took place and that almost all National Initiatives for fellowships were covered.

IPC Cr.Trupti Sayani of lc 4 confirmed the approval of the Annual report which was seconded by Cr.Shivani Bhaiya of MELC 100.

MATTERS ARISING OUT OF THE REPORT:

None

PRESENTATION OF ACCOUNTS/ FINANCIAL REPORT OF THE AREA:

AST Cr.Sujitha floated the financial statement to all those present and read out in detail the accounting expenses.The same was passed 21 days prior to the AGM. A handsome sum of Rs.15000 was handed over to AVCP Cr. Shweta Sampat for her year.

SERGEANTS ACT:

Cr.Sakshi dressed as a masseur from Thailand did an amazing act as sergeant. She had the crowd in splits and nobody minded the moolah she extracted!

ACP Anu informed the floor that as discussed at the NEX each circle was to be awarded for its best feature.Appreciation awards for the 3rd & 4th quarter were given out.

She also stated that all the annual reports were beautiful which made their tasks easy and difficult.The following awards were given out:

ADDRESS BY OUTGOING CHAIRPERSON:

ACP Anu thanked everyone for the efforts put in by all the circles to help educate the underprivileged by carrying out projects worth Rs.1 crore and 40 lakhs!

She thanked her entire team especially AST Sujitha who carried out her duties impeccably. She also thanked her ‘Angel” IPP Cr. Ramya and Tr. Gitesh for always being just a phone call away.

She wished Incoming ACP Cr. Shweta all the very best and assured her, her support always.

MATTERS ARISING OUT OF REPORT:

The incoming Vice Chairperson was proposed, Cr.Twinkle Gupta of LC 47.The Scrutineer HC Latha took this opportunity to explain to the floor that since the nomination of Cr.Twinkle Gupta had come only after the 30th of June, nominations were still open for the post of Vice Chairperson and that the circlerS had time till the NAGM.

ADDRESS BY THE INCOMING CHAIRPERSON:

AVCP Cr.Shweta Sampat looked every bit angelic as her theme which she presented as a visual. Her theme for the year was “ LIVE YOUR DREAMS”. She spoke about how each one of us are angels and that we need to do that little bit more and live our dreams to the fullest! She congratulated Cr.Anu for a fantastic year and asked for her support in the coming year. She congratulated all the circles for working so hard and making area 2 shine. She also gave a jist about the upcoming National Fellowship Express to Pondicherry.

APPROVAL OF THE PROPOSED EXPENDITURE STATEMENT FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR:

ACP Cr. Shweta had already floated the expenditure for the year and the same was unanimously passed by the floor.IPC Cr. Deepali of LC 100 seconded the budget.

APPOINTMENT OF BANKERS:

AST Cr. Mansi resolved that the bankers for the year 2013-2014 are Bank Of Baroda Nungambakkam branch and the Auditor for the year 2013-2014 is K.Sarvanan & Co.

IPC Cr. Trupti of LC 4 seconded the same.

RESOLUTION AUTHORISING INCOMING OFFICE BEARERSTO OPERATE THE BANK ACCOUNTS:

Cr. Mansi resolved that the incoming office bearers to operate the bank account would be ACP Elect Cr. Shweta Sampat and Cr. Mansi Mehta.

This was seconded by Cr. Shivani Bhaiya of LC 100.

ADDRESS BY GUEST OF HONOUR:

Cr. Masuma Vagh, National Treasurer thanked all for the warm welcome. She truly appreciated the kind of work Area2 was doing, calling it ‘ hot & happening’. She congratulated all for the projects done and was very impressed by the inter circle events.

She called ACP Cr. Anu a “ dhamaka” and congratulated her for the fantastic year. Also congratulated AST Cr. Sujitha or covering all facets of circling in her annual report.She even congratulated all the circlers who had been appreciated, stressing on the fact that the motto shouldn’t be to get awards but the awards should motivate one to do better.She requested all to pay up their AMF dues. She ended her talk by wishing ACP Elect Shweta all the very best.

ADDRESS BY CHIEF GUEST:

Cr. Saumya Sanjay, National Vice President started her speech by a saying ‘ Most beautiful things can neither be heard nor seen only FELT!!”She congratulated and thanked all for coming forward for inter area events. She congratulated both ACP Anu and AST Sujitha for driving the force and creating new benchmarks. She was amazed at the fund raisers girls of Area 2 were able to pull off and even commented on the whooping 1.4 crore worth projects done.

She urged all to participate more at National level.

“To enjoy circling you have to be a participant and not a mere spectator”. This has been my mantra from the day I joined circling and it has been a fantastic journey so far. The best experience being the Project Convener for Area2 2013-14, along with holding a National post as the National Co-opted Trust Convener. I’m very grateful to ACP Cr. Shweta Sampat for having the faith in me and entrusting me this post, which I was very keen on fulfilling.

I thank all the chairpersons of Area2 of the Live your Dreams team for their co-operation and support in all the area2 projects which I initiated and executed. Right from the WORLD HEART DAY project which costed Rs50,000, 5 circles contributed Rs10,000 each and we were able a save a small girls life by sponsoring for her critical heart surgery.

The PILLOWS PROJECT was the most special as 9 out of 10 circles of Area2 contributed towards this and we donated 300 pillows to the boys of St Louis Deaf and Blind School at Adyar. This truly shows that Area2 can come together to help the needy and underprivileged. This project costed Rs52, 500. We were fortunate to have LC India President 2013-14 Cr. Pooja Galundia’s presence at this project.

To ‘Do More’ at projects for the year, Tablers of Area2 jointly participated in our third project in donating 30 hearing aids at the CSI SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF AND DUMB. This project costed Rs63, 750 and thanks to ACM Tr. Hari Balaji for this support and participation.

Altogether, it has been a satisfying year as Projects convener in bringing smiles and spreading happiness. I have truly lived my dream this year and thank all the chairpersons, project conveners for the love and respect they have shown me this year. The treasures I take with me are some great memories and some wonderful friends. Thank you ACP Cr. Shweta, it has been a pleasure being in your team and I wish you all the best in all your future endeavours.

Greetings from Area 2 Fellowship convener!!

This year as a fellowship convener enjoyed each and every bit of it. It is a very special feeling and thoroughly enjoyed reading all the Fellowship reports of Area 2 circles. Each and every circle of Area 2 has done wonderful fellowship this year! It was a magical experience where we at Area 2 hosted all the NEXT Members at ACP Cr. Shweta Sampat’s residence for a memorable evening, embellished with the theme “Angels”, and with each one of us dressed in shades of purple n white. We played games like kissing the balloon and few other games and huge photo sessions went on and on with NEXT members. We had a very good attendance and good support from all circles which is a clear depiction of the wonderful bonding that we share in Area 2.

Fellowship between all the secretaries of Area 2, Cr. Prajakta Kunitkar & Cr. Masuma Vagh at Costa Café was indeed a relaxing, fun and yet a very informative mid - morning spent. The secretaries were able to troubleshoot any doubts they had with using the MOMCi as well as to share their notes on the same!

A delicious and fun breakfast fellowship took place along with the tablers of Area 2, followed by a heart – warming project at the CSI school for deaf and dumb!

Thanks to ACP Cr. Shweta Sampat for giving me such a good opportunity as the Fellowship Convenor for Area 2!

We kick started this year with a LAPD conducted by Yogi Ashwini and his disciples. Yoga gurus are usually associated with long saffron robes, flowing beards and a Spartan lifestyle. But the same is not so with unconventional Yogi Ashwini. His disciples refer to him as "the guiding light of Dhyan Foundation" which has centres in nearly 30 cities around India as well as in the US, UK and Germany. Yogi Ashwini enlightened us on many issues related to life and even gave us some wonderful anti – aging yoga techniques!

Finally, the much awaited LAPD for Area 2 was conducted on the 3rd of Aug ’14. It was based on a topic which all the twinklers indeed love and are passionate about.

It was a 2 hour photography session for all the twinklers at Area 2 conducted by our very own Sq. leg Manikanten an ace advertising and professional photographer with an experience of over 20 years. He was accompanied by our NHT Punit Sampat who volunteered to join and give the twinkers some fun moments.

It started off with an introduction about the photographer himself followed by the basic insight into photography. The twinklers got to know about camera specific information. It was good to watch the twinklers clear their queries and enhance their photographic skills. This was followed by an outdoor shoot wherein the twinklers were asked to click pictures in best angles possible.

We got some breathtaking pictures by some twinklers. Towards the end the twinklers were awarded with certificates for having attended the session in addition to the yummy snacks and lunch.

Overall it was a fun-filled session with the twinklers walking away happily with a sense of achievement for clicking good pictures and receiving a certificate for the same.

I would like to thank the ACP Cr. Shweta for having been a big pillar of support towards this initiative.

I would also like to thank Area Twinklers convenor, Cr.Namita for her help.

As an Area Twinklers Convener I am happy to see the impetus given to twinklers this year by each and every circle. The events that all the circles have taken trouble to organize for the twinklers have been simply breathtaking!

The movie “Frozen” was a complete entertainer, to say the least. 100 children from Area 2 enjoyed themselves thoroughly! The animations, sound effects, story line were superb which made the movie a hit not only amongst the children, but also the mothers who had come along.

Finally, the twinklers photography LAPD conducted by ace photographer and a tabler, Sq. leg Manikanten! It was a fun – filled morning spent with children exploring the world with a lens!He was assisted by NHT Punit Sampat who made the session fun and child friendly.I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Cr. Sujitha Manikanten for planning the twinklers LAPD.

My very sincere thanks to ACP Cr. Shweta Sampat for giving me the opportunity to be on her board this year!

Dear Friends

Area 2 has always been at the fore in suppor7ng LC India in their endeavors! This year has been no different in each fact of circling. From the Regalia we have bought items worth almost Rs. 80000/-‐. In keeping with our Na7onal Ini7a7ves, one of which is distribu7on of school bags with the LC India and RTI logos on them, we have purchased these bags from the regalia and distributed them to various schools in Chennai and Pondicherry! Other items purchased during the year included tee shirts, calendars, LC India lamps, napkins giM ar7cles & much more!

The 5th Annual General Meeting minutes of Area 2 were sent to the National Board, on time.

Two Area Executive meetings were held at Area 2 during the year 2013-14. National president Cr. Pooja was present for the 1st AEX. Both were held at the Round Table House, Secretariat.

Invites, notice and minutes of both the AEX meeting were sent on time to the National Board and to the other Area Board members.

The Area Executive Meeting ensured complete participation from all the circles. The Area Chairpersons along with their Secretaries put up beautiful presentations about their circle doings and informed the Board about their future plans. This helped many members to open up and talk passionately about the various projects they had taken up.

Most of the Area convenors were also present at the meetings and gave in their inputs.

All the 4 Quarterly Sheets and the ACP Feedback sheet were duly filled and sent to the National Board on time.

Festive greetings and birthday wishes of the Area Board members, Circle Chirpersons and secretaries were circulated on the dreams unlimited e-group. Birthday wishes of National Board members were also sent .

Minute Tracker was created and circulated on the group.

Other communications from the National Board were also circulated .

Periodic reminders were sent for timely execution of circling activities and submission of reports to the Chairpersons and Secretaries.

FACTS

10 FUND RAISERS during the year.

Projects worth Rs. 2 crores and 45 lakhs were done in Area 2. 4 projects at Area level.

Regalia products worth Rs. 78662 were sold.

Rs. 55936 worth of sports equipment were given away and ALL the circles of Area2 completed the Presidents Theme Project: “Khelega India To Badhega India”.

7 inter circle events saw the entire Area 2 come together and have fun.

3 Twinklers fellowships were organized : Aladdin the musical, Frozen the movie and Photography session( Hrd program).
