The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) started the Propane Farm Incentive Program (PFIP) as a way to repay producers for helping us document the performance of propane technologies used on the farm. Just for supplying us with real-world data, you can receive incentives to offset the cost of the latest propane-powered equipment. Some producers have received up to $24,000 as part of the program.

The benefits don’t stop at the incentive. Producers from coast-to-coast are switching to propane because the numbers prove that for everything from irrigation to flame weeding, propane outperforms other fuels.

INCREASED PERFORMANCE

Producers have reported that new propane irrigation engines deliver up to 28 percent higher performance than their previous diesel engines. They’ve also seen their horsepower increase 10 percent over previous natural gas engines.

LOWER COSTS

You can save up to 50 percent on the purchase of a new propane irrigation engine compared with a diesel engine of similar power. And propane can lower your fuel costs for nearly every application. Today’s propane-powered grain dryers are up to 50 percent more fuel efficient than the earlier models. FEWER CO2 EMISSIONS

Propane irrigation engines emit 8 and 18 percent fewer greenhouse gases than diesel and gasoline engines, respectively. They’re also Tier 4- and CARB-ready, without any expensive add-on filters or exhaust fluids.

EASY ON-SITE REFUELING

No matter the size of your operation, your local propane provider can customize a fueling plan that’s right for you, with delivery right to your farm, and right where it’s needed.

ABUNDANT SUPPLY

Propane is made in America, and we have plenty of it. The abundant supply means consistently competitive costs for producers.

LOWER COSTS. CLEANER EMISSIONS. GREATER RELIABILITY.
