I created this slide deck to raise awareness of the things people are missing out on due to their smartphones. I cannot stand the difficulty of interaction because of the distraction of our phones. I understand the importance of owning a phone in today’s society but it should not take away from the more important things in life such as, exercise, sleep, friends and most importantly family.

The first Smartphone was introduced in 1990
The Smartphone has come a long way since then
We now have a countless amount of information at our
fingertips
The question is…
Are Smartphones causing more harm than good?
Lets look at the consequences
There is an increased cost
They are a constant distraction
But worst of all, is the dependence
3 out of 4 Canadians own a Smartphone
8% of a persons day is spent on their Smartphone
“Life is what happens to you when you’re looking at your smartphone”
If they may be doing more harm than good
We have to stop and realize
There are so many other things we could be doing!
So take a break from your phone
And get some exercise
And get some sleep
And socialize with friends
But most importantly, spend time with your family!
