1. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

2. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

3. According to building regulations, whenever a new or replacement fixed solid fuel or wood/biomass appliance is installed in a dwelling and audible carbon monoxide alarm must be fitted in the same room as the appliance. Further information on the installation of the carbon monoxide alarm is available in BS EN 50292:2002 and from the alarm manufactures instructions.

4. Never place combustible items such as but not limited to furniture, fabric or wood within the specified clearances to combustibles.

5. The burning of wood gives off gases which can be extremely dangerous. Multi-fuel stoves are designed so that under normal operating circumstances these gases pass up the flue chimney system and cannot escape into your home, however it is important that your flue system is properly installed and that you check all joints regularly to ensure that there are no cracks or gaps, check the door sealing rope and replace when damaged/worn. We recommend a smoke alarm be fitted in rooms where multi-fuel stoves are installed. Do not use your multi-fuel stove in a room where negative pressure conditions exist. Negative pressure environments can cause products of combustion to be drawn from the fireplace into the room. Caution should be taken when using any form of extraction in a room where a multi-fuel stove is installed.

6. This appliance is designed to specifically burn solid fuel and hardwood. Do not burn rubbish, driftwood, flammable liquids or any substance containing salts or corrosives.

7. Creosote and soot may accumulate in your flue pipe and chimney. This may ignite, causing a chimney fire. If you suspect a chimney fire close down the air controls on the multi-fuel stove, if the fire persists evacuate people from the building and call the Fire Brigade. To prevent the accumulation of soot or creosote, check flue and chimney regularly and clean as necessary. Burning good quality wood will generally cause a lot less creosote build-up, likewise dry wood will cause less build-up than wet wood. We recommend a fire extinguisher be available where multi-fuel stoves are in operation. In the event of a chimney fire do not re-light the multi-fuel stove until the stove and the flue chimney system have been thoroughly checked and repaired/replaced as necessary.

8. Always wear protective gloves when reloading a multi-fuel stove.

9. Never over-fire your stove. If external parts of your multi-fuel stove are glowing red then the multi-fuel stove is over-firing and your draught settings should be reduced. Never interfere with the draught mechanisms or adjust your air settings outside those limits set when the multi-fuel stove is manufactured. Never use a secondary fan to supply or extract air to the multi-fuel stove.

10. All users of the multi-fuel stove should be aware of the contents of this manual. Please leave this manual where it is accessible to multi-fuel stove users and do not allow anyone to use the multi-fuel stove that is unfamiliar with its correct operation.

11. Never use the multi-fuel stove if any parts are missing or damaged, only use genuine parts as replacements.Never modify your multi-fuel stove.

12. There is no asbestos in this stove. Please seek specialist guidance if you suspect any disturbance of asbestos during the installation of this multi-fuel stove.

13. When using this stove in situations where children or aged persons are present a fireguard must be used to prevent accidental contact with the stove.

INSTALLATION

UNPACKING THE STOVE

After removing the outer packaging, unbolt the combustion chamber from the wooden pallet and place it gently on its back. The cardboard packaging can be placed underneath to prevent marring. We recommend that two people perform the assembly and installation procedure.

INSTALLING THIS STOVE

The stove and chimney installations MUST comply with HETAS and British Standard BS 8303, Code of Practice for installation of domestic heating and cooking appliances burning solid mineral materials. Your approved dealer or your local building control officer can advise regarding this. Ultimately, it is you and your installer who are responsible that the installation complies with local regulations.

PRE-INSTALLATION

In select instances, installation may be more difficult if the unit remains fully assembled due the to the weight of a complete appliance. When working in tight confines or have limited maneuverability we recommend the following process to reduce elements of weight which can be followed until a comfortable level is achieved. After removing the stove from the packaging, open the fire door and remove the loose packing. Prior to installation all the internal components of the stove are removed to gain access to fixings and to make it lighter for installation.

DISASSEMBLING UNIT/PARTS

Remove the refractory fire bricks, these bricks are loose and just need to be lifted clear of the grate support plate before they can be removed. To remove the loose baffle, lift the front edge until it hits the top and then slide it forward. Then drop the rear edge and the baffle will slide down. To remove the fixed baffle, loosen the two screws and slide it forwards, it will then drop down.To remove the cast iron liners, lift them clear of the grate support plate and then move the front edge of the casting towards the middle of the stove, and clear of the back wall of the stove, then tilt the casting so that it can be removed diagonally through the opening. Remove the flue spigot and gasket by removing the four bolts. Next, remove the grate by pushing it from underneath, the riddling bar is not fixed to the grate. This will allow access to four M6 fixings which will attach the stove to the outer casing.

8.

HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONSSpecial care must be taken when installing the stove such that the requirements of the

Health and Safety at Work Act are met.

HANDLING

Adequate facilities must be available for loading, unloading and site handling.

FIRE CEMENT

Some types of fire cement are caustic and should not be allowed to come into contact with the skin. In case of contact wash immediately with plenty of water.

ASBESTOS

This stove contains no asbestos. If there is a possibility of disturbing any asbestos in the course of installation then please seek specialist guidance and use appropriate protective equipment.

INSTALLATION ....continued

CHIMNEY

The stove is a radiant room stove and must be connected to a chimney of the proper size and type. The chimney must have a cross sectional area of at least 124cm2 or a diameter of at least 150mm. Never connect to a smaller size chimney. Do not connect to a chimney serving another appliance. Minimum chimney height 4.5 meters from floor on which stove is installedIt is recommended that a flue liner of diameter 150mm be used to line the chimney, the liner should be approved for use with solid fuel. It is permitted to connect using a closure plate and a connection piece from the stove to the closure plate, provided that the chimney is of sound construction with no leaks or cracks, a clay flue liner has been used that can withstand up to 1000oC, the clay liner has a diameter no greater than 200mm. The stove must be connected to a chimney with a minimum continuous draught of 12 Pascals (.05” WG). Poor draught conditions will result in poor performance.

CONNECTING TO A MASONRY CHIMNEY

A wall sleeve should be bricked securely into the wall of the chimney at the appropriate height and the stovepipe inserted centrally. The pipe must not extend into the actual chimney opening, but rather must reach only to the inside of the chimney aperture. The gap between the stove pipe and sleeve must be sealed using glass fiber packing rope.

CONNECTING TO A STEEL CHIMNEY

If your installation involves taking the chimney straight up and through the ceiling, you must comply with National, Local Building Regulations or flue manufacturer’s instructions concerning clearances to combustible materials such as walls, floor joists and ceilings. The joint between the stove flue collar and the stove pipe must also be sealed using the glass fiber rope provided. It is important that the insulated flue system is properly supported both at ceiling level and at roof level. THE STOVE MUST NOT BEAR THE WEIGHT OF THE CHIMNEY SYSTEM (See chimney manufacturer’s instructions). Excessive weight on the stove will inhibit expansion and could lead to damage of the stove top. Damage caused to the stove in this way would not be covered by the manufacturers guarantee.

In the event that a chimney fire occurs resulting from faulty operation or prolonged use of damp wood fuel, close the air vents completely and contact your local fire department immediately.

If there is no existing chimney then a prefabricated block chimney can be built in accordance with Building Regulations Approved Document J. This chimney must be fitted in accordance with building regulations. For top flue installations it is possible to sweep through the appliance by removing the internal baffle, however it is recommended that you provide adequate access (e.g easily accessible soot door.)

Please refer to British Standards BS EN 15287-1:2007 design, installation and commissioning of chimneys for additional requirements.

9.

PIPE CONNECTIONS

The stove is installed with a 125 mm diameter flue pipe. This must be an approved thickness of 1mm. The flue collar for this product is inside the burn chamber during transportation. You can choose between a top or rear outlet from the flue pipe. The screws for fastening are in the bag containing fasteners. Figure 1. Flue pipes are placed directly onto the product flue outlet. There is a screw on threefold sides of the product flue collar. These are used to fasten the flue pipe. Fasten the flue collar with screws. It is important that all screws are installed. Use the same instructions for both top and rear installation.

Note: It is important that the joints are completely sealed. Air leakage etc. may lead to malfunction.

CHOICE OF FUEL

RECOMMENDED FUEL: WOOD

Use hard wood logs.

Do not fire with wet wood, or unseasoned wood. Wood should be stored under a roof for at least 1 year with access to wind. To dry the wood most effectively, wood should be split as soon as possible. The wood can be used once the moisture content is less than 20%, but it most effective when under 15%.

We recommend burning the following wood: Oak, Ash, Maple, Birch, Elm, Beech, etc.

Pieces of wood with a diameter greater than 10cm should always be split. The pieces of wood should be short enough to be able to lie flat whilst placed in a front to rear direction over the layer of embers, with an air gap at both ends. The maximum length of the approved fuel in the stove should be no more than 20cm for Ardeo V and 30cm for Ardeo VII.

RECOMMENDED FUEL: SMOKELESS FUELS

Smokeless fuels, including coolite nuts, phurnacite, ancit and extracite.

Page 12: ARDEO RANGE… · Congratulations on purchasing a genuine Scandia multi-fuel stove. When cared for properly, these high quality, finely crafted multi-fuel stoves will offer many years

NOT RECOMMENDED AS FUEL:

Green wood: Green or damp wood reduces stove efficiency and soils the glass, the internal walls and the flue (soot, tar, etc.). “Green wood” and “recovered wood” can eventually cause a chimney fire.

Used timbers: Burning treated wood such as railway sleepers, telegraph poles, off cuts of plywood or chip board, pallets, etc. can quickly block the flue ways, pollutes the environment and causes the fire to burn too quickly and overheat.

Prohibited fuels: Plastic bags, liquid fuels, waste materials and any form of bituminous coal or petroleum based liquid. This may harm the product and pollute the atmosphere. The appliance should never be used as an incinerator.

USING THE FIREPLACE FOR THE FIRST TIME

Painted products: The fireplace may produce light smoke and some fumes when used for the first time, and it may smell a little. This is normal and not considered toxic, but the room should be thoroughly ventilated. Let the fire burn with a high draught until all traces of the gas have disappeared and no smoke or smells can be detected.

Enameled products: Condensation may form on the surface of the fireplace the first few times it is used. This must be wiped off to prevent permanent stains forming when the surface heats up.

Ventilation: It is essential that the fire has adequate air supply for combustion and ventilation. Apertures provided for this purpose shall not be restricted.

USE WITH WOOD

LIGHTING

1. Slide the secondary & primary air controls open.

2. Lay firelighters, rolled up newspapers or kindling on the grate. Place 2 or 3 small logs on top.

3. Light the newspaper or firelighters and close the door.

4. When the fire is burning fiercely, add further logs of a diameter up to 10cm.

5. When the stove body is hot, close the primary air control.

6. Close the secondary air controller 80%

RE-FUELLING

1. Slide the secondary & primary air controls open.

2. Open the glass door and add logs. (To avoid the smoke escaping into the room, open the door slowly)

3. Leave the primary air control open for a few minutes to allow the initial volatiles in the wood to burn.

4. Close the primary air control .

Very Important: Wood is a material that contains a great deal of gas (approximately 75%). The gases are released when the wood is lit and heated up. For this reason, it is important that the gases are ignited quickly after stoking. If the wood just lies smoldering, especially after re-stoking, a lot of smoke is created, which, in the worst case, may cause an explosive ignition of the gases, resulting in damage to the stove.

In order to ignite the gases that are released from the wood, and to keep clear, lasting flames during the combustion process, it is important to let in the required quantity of oxygen (air supply) at all times. The setting of the air supply, the method of ignition and the lighting intervals depend on the draught in the chimney, the wind and weather, the amount of heat required, the fuel, etc. This means that it may take some time before you get to know the correct functioning of the stove under any given circumstances.

USE WITH SOLID FUEL

LIGHTING

1. Slide the secondary & primary air controls open.

2. Lay firelighters, rolled up newspapers or kindling on the grate. Place 2 or 3 small logs on top.

3. Light the newspaper or firelighters and close the door.

4. When the fire is burning fiercely, add further fuel.

5. When the stove body is hot, close the secondary air control.

6. The burning rate can now be adjusted by the primary air control.

RE-FUELLING

1. Slide the primary air control open.

2. Open the glass door and add fuel. (To avoid the smoke escaping into the room, open the door slowly)

3. Leave the primary air control open for a few minutes to allow the initial volatiles in the fuel to burn.

4. Adjust the primary air control to the desired position.

COMBUSTION AIR REQUIREMENTS

UK building regulations state that any appliance over 5kW MUST have a fixed permanent air vent (for more information see building regulations approved document J).

To keep your loved ones safe and to ensure that your stove is performing to its optimum efficiency, an adequate air supply must be vented into the room the stove is installed to provide combustion air. This is particularly necessary in modern houses where drafts have been almost eliminated by double glazing etc.

An extractor fan must not be fitted in the same room as the stove as the stove can emit dangerous fumes into the room. To prevent the danger of the emitted fumes and to meet building regulations, a wall vent MUST be installed to ensure combustion air and to allow enough oxygen into the room. There should be one vent per stove.

SMOKE EXEMPT REQUIREMENTS Under the Clean Air Act local authorities may declare the whole or part of the district of the authority to be a smoke control area. It is an offence to emit smoke from a chimney of a building, from a furnace or from any fixed boiler if located in a designated smoke control area. It is also an offence to acquire an “unauthorised fuel” for use within a smoke control area unless it is used in an “exempt” appliance (“exempted” from the controls which generally apply in the smoke control area).

In England appliances are exempted by publication on a list by the Secretary of State in accordance with changes made to sections 20 and 21 of the Clean Air Act 1993 by section 15 of the Deregulation Act 2015. In Scotland appliances are exempted by publication on a list by Scottish Ministers under section 50 of the Regulatory Reform (Scotland) Act 2014. Similarly, In Northern Ireland appliances are exempted by publication on a list by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs under Section 16 of the Environmental Better regulation Act (Northern Ireland) 2016. In Wales appliances are exempted by regulations made by Welsh Ministers.

Further information on the requirements of the Clean Air Act can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/smoke-control-area-rules

Your local authority is responsible for implementing the Clean Air Act 1993 including designation and supervision of smoke control areas and you can contact them for details of Clean Air Act requirements.

If you live in a Smoke Control Area you must only burn ‘authorised’ smokeless fuels. In such areas burning wood is only ‘authorised’ if you burn it in a smoke exempt stove. Even when using a smoke exempt stove, you will still be breaking the law if you use wet or unseasoned wood which causes excessive or nuisance smoke.

The Ardeo V & VII has been recommended as suitable for use in smoke control areas when burning well seasoned hardwood or HETAS approved smokeless fuel.

To find out whether you live in a Smoke Control Area contact your Local Authority (usually the Environmental Health or Protection Department).

Contact details for your Local Authority can be found here: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Dl1/Directories/Localcouncils/index.htm

Further information on the requirements of the Clean Air Act can be found at: www.smokecontrol.defra.gov.uk

Ardeo V/Ardeo VII have been fitted with a modified air control to prevent closure of the secondary air control beyond 10mm/8.5mm open.

Refuelling on to a low fire bedIf there is insufficient burning material in the firebed to light a new fuel charge, excessive smoke emission can occur. Refuelling must be carried out onto a sufficient quantity of glowing embers and ash that the new fuel charge will ignite in a reasonable period. If there are too few embers in the fire bed, add suitable kindling to prevent excessive smoke

Fuel overloadingThe maximum amount of fuel specified in this manual should not be exceeded, overloading can cause excess smoke.

Operation with door left open

Operation with the door open can cause excess smoke. The appliance must not be operated with the appliance door left open except as directed in the instructions.

Dampers left open

Operation with the air controls or appliance dampers open can cause excess smoke. The appliance must not be operated with air controls, appliance dampers or door left open except as directed in the instructions.

12.

Page 14: ARDEO RANGE… · Congratulations on purchasing a genuine Scandia multi-fuel stove. When cared for properly, these high quality, finely crafted multi-fuel stoves will offer many years

TIPS TO REDUCE SMOKE OUTPUT

1. Ensure there is sufficient burning material in the fire bed before lighting a new fuel charge. There must be a sufficient amount of glowing embers and ash to help the fire re-ignite. To prevent excessive smoke, use kindling if there are not enough active embers.

2. Overloading your stove is going to cause excess smoke. It is advised to not exceed the fuel load for this appliance.

3. Do not leave the stove door or air intake open during use unless advised by the manufacturer. This can cause excess smoke.

4. If there is insufficient burning material in the fire bed to light a new fuel charge, excessive smoke emission can occur. Refuelling must be carried out onto a sufficient quantity of glowing embers and ash that the new fuel charge will ignite in a reasonable period. If there are too few embers in the fire bed, add suitable kindling to prevent excessive smoke

RECOMMENDED WHEN LIVING IN SMOKE CONTROLLED AREAS

To ensure that you are creating the least amount of smoke possible it is important to establish a hot fire as soon as possible.

Follow the recommended instructions below to help the appliance to burn cleanly:

1. Open both the primary and tertiary air intakes when operating with an established coal base

2. Light a small amount of kindling

3. Close the door without closing the latch (allow a slight draft through the cracks of the door to establish the flame)

4. Once the kindling is established (may take around 5-10 mins) add 2 small logs

5. When the fire is established and the smaller logs have blackened, latch the door.

(The stove must be supervised at all times during this process.)

MULTI-FUEL STOVE MAINTENANCE CHECK YOUR MULTI-FUEL STOVE REGULARLYInitially, we recommend you check your flue system at least once per month. After the first few months you will notice a pattern of soot and creosote build up and you can then determine an inspection interval for checking soot and creosote build up that is suitable for your multi-fuel stove installation.

Other checks, as listed below, should be carried out at least twice per year. If you notice anything wrong at any time it should be repaired immediately. Never use a multi-fuel stove that is in any way damaged or has a damaged flue.

1. Check your flue system for build up of soot or creosote and for signs of damage to joints.

2. To check flue outlet remove top of baffle by lifting and pulling out at end. Use a flashlight to check flue outlet.Clean and repair as necessary. Always replace top baffle before relighting stove.

3. Check that glass is not cracked or chipped and that the sealing rope is in good condition. Replace as necessary.

4. When the room is dark, use a strong flashlight to check the sealing of the multi-fuel stove at the edge and corners for leaks. Any leaks or cracks found should be repaired with fire cement or damaged parts should be replaced with genuine spare parts.

5. Check that multi-fuel stove door is tight and well sealed when closed. Place a strip of paper into the multi-fuel stove and close the door, try to pull out paper. You should feel some resistance to your pull, check several points around the door. If it pulls out too easily, replace the rope and seal in place with a suitable high temperature sealant.

6. Check baffle plate and firebricks. Baffle plate should be replaced if a hole appears in the surface of the plate. Firebricks should be replaced when they start to crumble or the firebox is exposed.

ASH REMOVALIt is essential to keep the grate free from a heavy build up of ashes. This product is equipped with a grate riddling device which is used to “shake” ashes off the grate into the ash pan. Once the fire is completely burnt out, use the riddling lever to clear the grate of surplus ashes.

If burning solid fuel, always empty the ash pan at least once a day or whenever it is full of ashes. Never allow the ash pan to overfill allowing ash to be in contact with the underside of the grate. If this condition is allowed, the grate will wear out pre-maturely.

When the stove is out and completely cold you may remove the ash using an ash vacuum or a steel bucket with a lid and shovel.

MULTI-FUEL STOVE MAINTENANCE ....continued

14.

CARE OF GLASSAt times, especially when the air controls are turned to low settings or when damp wood is used, the multi-fuel stove glass will blacken. This is caused by fuel that is not completely burnt, but the build-up on the inside of the glass will normally burn off when a good hot fire is established in the multi-fuel stove.

There may be times however when you need to clean the glass. To do this, use a soft cloth and a non-abrasive glass cleaner.

Only ever clean the glass when the multi-fuel stove is cold. For best results select from Scandia’s range of glass cleaning products. When loading fuel into the multi-fuel stove, always make sure it is not protruding out through the door opening, as this may break the glass when you close the door. This is especially relevant when loading logs. Always close the door gently.

If the glass does crack when the multi-fuel stove is lit, let the fire die out. Do not open the door until the multi-fuel stove has fully cooled. Replace the glass with the specified replacement part before re-using the multi-fuel stove.

REPLACING PARTSAlways use genuine replacement parts. Only ever make replacements when the multi-fuel stove is cold. All replacement parts can be ordered from www.scandiaspares.com

FLUE MAINTENANCE

• Regular sweeping of the chimney and any connecting flue-pipe. Ensure at least once a year for smokeless fuels and a minimum of twice a year for bituminous coal

• Cleaning the appliance flue-ways if incorporated, monthly cleaning of the throat plate and method

• Servicing the appliance emphasising cleaning of the appliance flue-ways, flue-pipe and chimney prior to lighting up after a prolonged shut-down period.

• Access to cleaning doors where it is not possible to sweep the chimney through the appliance

Where the chimney is believed to have a served an open fire installation it is recommended that the chimney be swept a second time within a month of regular use after installation. It is important clean the appliance flue-ways, flue-pipe and chimney prior to lighting up after a prolonged shut-down period.

SURFACE FINISHTo clean your stove wipe lightly with a damp cloth or dust with a duster. Some cleaning products may leave stains on the multi-fuel stove surface, we recommend using Scandia glass & surface cleaner. Never use abrasive cloths as these may scratch the surface; take caution when using microfiber cloths as they can leave swirl marks if used in a circular motion. Painted multi-fuel stoves can be re-painted by using a good quality, high temperature multi-fuel stove paint. When re-painting, make sure there is plenty of ventilation and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Allow the paint to fully dry before lighting the stove and allow extra ventilation for the first couple of fires as some fumes may emit from the stove as the paint cures.

LEAVING YOUR FIREPLACE FOR AN EXTENDED DURATION

Shutting-down procedure

If the stove is to be left unused for a prolonged period of time then it should be given a thorough clean to remove ash and unburned fuel residues. To enable a good flow of air through the appliance to reduce condensation and subsequent damage, leave the air controls fully open.

It is important that the flue connection, any appliance baffles or throat plates and the chimney are swept prior to lighting up after a prolonged shutdown period.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

15.

If you are having issues with your multi-fuel stove not working the way you think it should, we implore you to speak to your installer first; they can help you with issues such as burning too much or too little wood, smoke in the room when you open the door, blackened glass or build-up of creosote during use. A professional installer can also provide guidance on whether the problem is a manufacturing issue. In this instance we will work with them to resolve any issues as soon as possible for you. It is important to remember that all flue installations must be compliant

with Local Standards. A stove installed with a non-compliant flue configuration will not perform as advertised or as tested.

FIRE NOT BURNINGA multi-fuel stove not burning is generally caused by either a shortage of air and/or incorrect or damp fuel. If fuel is not the problem check:

1. That primary and secondary air controls are open.

2. There is no blockage in the flue system.

3. That the open end of the flue is above the height of any nearby obstructions.

4. That there is a sufficient air supply into the room and that this supply is not being taken by an extractor fan.If unsure, open external windows slightly and see if flame improves in 10 minutes

GLASS BLACKENSGlass usually blackens when:

1. The fuel is not burning efficiently because of starvation of air.

2. Bad quality or damp fuel is being used.

Please note: For optimum efficiency always use a good quality dry hardwood or quality HETAS approved smokeless fuel.

SMOKE IN ROOMIf the multi-fuel stove is properly installed it should not emit any smoke into your room. Should this happen, check that your room is not air tight. This can easily be checked by opening a door or window. If the smoking stops you need to provide an additional air supply into the room. If this is not the problem, check if your chimney is blocked or obstructed and that you are not getting a down draught caused by the location of the open end of the flue pipe or chimney. If the problem persists contact your installation company and ask them to get your chimney and stove installation checked.

CHIMNEY FIREChimney fires occur when soot and creosote that have built up in the flue system ignite. If the multi-fuel stove is operated properly and the flue checked and cleaned regularly then chimney fires should not occur. These fires can be very dangerous and must be avoided. Try to maintain good, hot fires in the multi-fuel stove whenever possible and at least once in every firing open the air controls and allow the multi-fuel stove to burn on full for a short while until the entire fire bed is glowing red.

Check your flue system regularly for build-up of soot and creosote and clean as necessary. Chimney fires can be detected by sparks coming from the top of the chimney, a roaring sound coming from the area of the stove or chimney or vibration in the stove or chimney.

In the event of a chimney fire:

– Close the air controls

– Evacuate the building

– Call the fire department (999 or 112)

Do not relight the stove after a chimney fire until the stove and flue have been checked and any necessary repairs have been carried out.

FIRE BURNING TOO QUICKLYThis is usually caused by too much draught or air.

1. Firstly try reducing the air supply to the multi-fuel stove by closing down your air controls, if this fails then you may have to correct the door seal which may be damaged.

2. Close a thin strip of paper in the door, check to see if the paper stays in place or pulls out. If the paper pulls out easily you may need to adjust or replace the door seal.

3. Check to see if the glass moves within the door frame. If it does you may need to tighten the glass retainer screws.

4. Check the condition of the door sealing rope and the glass seal tape.
