Nelson R. Scott was a Worcester businessman (apothecary) who died in Egypt while touring earlyin 1883. Shipment of the body from Alexandria to Worcester was unaccountably delayed.Charles N. Scott, son of N.R. Scott, arranged for transportation of the body with Thomas Cook& Sons of London. Correspondence in the collection relates to the delays in transportation of thebody.

The collection is comprised of letters from Thomas Cook & Son, Managers of Tours &Excursions, London, to Charles N. Scott, Worcester, Mass., relating to the shipping of the bodyof his father (died in Egypt) from Cairo to Boston, March to July 1883.
