The belvedere bar project takes part to a more complex operation, whose aim is to develop a formation and information center inside therural landscape of humac village.at the beginning, the rural “hole” was an opened water tank cistern used by humac community: it’s a rectangle 5 meters deep, made of dry-stones, sourrounded on the south by a thick mediterranean vegetation; on the north side, a system of lavander terraces overlooksthe sea.the peculiar aspects of the project comes from the rural architecture of this place: the ruin is the center of the composition; the dry-stone walls generate the idea of a big concrete wall, that in a concentric movement, leads people along a promenade above the landscape.the belvedere promenade consists of a ramp 35 meters long and 2 meters wide, that runs up to 3 meters. a second ramp, allows to reach the intermediate level, where visitors choose to go inside the garden-ruin, or to continue the promenade through another way.the garden-ruin is a free open-space where different kind of activities can take place; it’s directly connected with another open-space, a kind of lobby that introduces the visitors inside the bar; it was obteined digging the massive concrete wall.from this point it’s easy to get the ground floor exit, by taking the metal staircase, discovering, step by step, the sourrounding landscape left before.

programm ............................ extension to sprengel museum by P. and U. Trint with D. Quats 1979
The idea for the extension of sprengel museum was first of all to follow and continue the boundary of the existing museum.from a functional point of view, the extension allows visitors easier to understand how to move inside; on the other side, it makes stronger the visual perception of museum as a unique entity.the extension kept to the urbanistic restrictions referred to height ofbuilding, and use of free surface: it gets to the emmerberge strasse, where is also located the only access way to the storage area, through a ramp running up to the basement, located at a height of -6.88 meters.the big existing terrace was kept as belvedere; it allows also to reach the event hall, putted on the right side of this one, as a conclusion.basement hosts services like storage and sorting rooms; the delivery bay is directly connected to the new exhibition rooms througha lift.the exhibition level follows the existing one. a big hall realizes the connection between the existing and the new addiction: through stairs here located, visitors could reach the other exhibition rooms hosted in the basement.even though the office didn’t get any prize for this competition, i’m proud of my work; i followed all the phases of the process, learninga lot of useful aspects connected with the organization of a museum.

programm ........................... design for burkina faso pavilion expo 2015 in milan
Expo 2015 will be developed in milan with a new concept: a big “garden” where all the countries could show their own results about agriculture and production, finding a way to feeding the planet in 2050.all the pavilions could be temporary and easily dismantled after expo time.my study started by choosing a climate area, in this case africa savannah, like an area that, according to fao research, for climate conditions and vegetation, could supply a big amount of food demand for all the world, just in case water could be catched and preserved and used to make land suitable for growing crops.after a complete analysis of africa savannah geographical, natural and agricultural conditions, i choosed burkina faso as a representative country where rainwater harvesting microcatchment techniques were successfully and could be better organized. i studied all the aspects of burkina faso concerning economy, agriculture, breeding, society: in particular, anthropological aspects connected to the relationship between nomadic and sedentary etnic groups, gave me the concept for the pavilion: a walking mat, changing step by step during expo time, where the relation between mass and void, sedentary and nomadic, agriculture and breeding is always a strong perception for visitors, who will walk on a millet mat, leaving their own track, like a landmark on the ground around the sedentary world of circles.

programm ..................... a research about berlin spree area between Jannowitzbrücke and Ostkreuz, rethinking a possible urban design
The XXI european cities have to match against change: people and cultures need always more. ther’s the problem, not only to answer inthe right way, but also to create a general background where different cultures and thoughts could confront and mix themselves.after having experience with oppression, totalitarianisms, destruction and separation, berlin became, in the last 20 years, an important place of urban planning innovation, whose relations between “pasts” and present are closely related. in the last few years, after wall falling down and reunification of the city, there was a special plot betweenrecovery and innovation strategies. on the other hand, it was necessary to turn into a new area for changes and fluxes, the slummy landscape around the wall.analysing the events that involved friedrichshain-kreuzberg district, i developed my thesis: after studying morphology, i looked into governance policies of public administration, who wanted to rebuild a huge urban void (O2 world) through a public-private society, breaking the balance between cultural varieties there dislocated. after evaluating roles and reasons of actors involved, i tried to propose an urban design, thinking about how to answer to the necessities of people, taking into account place and existing buildings and looking at berlin urban typologies.obviously, new edification adds up to create a urban fabric, made of layers and contrasts. in all these landscapes has to be found a way to mix togheter signs and memories with new town planning regulations. this is the challenge!

programm .................. analysis and study of some cases of urban voids in berlin, as means of urban reappropriation by citizens through temporary use
I decided also to add this research about wagenburg lohmuehle; it’s really important for me, because it was the first time in which i came to berlin and afterwards i decided to finish here my studies.the research comes from a more complex study referred to the analysis of 12 case-studies in berlin, as places that, after being urban voids, were used by citizens as temporary open rooms for different kind of activities promoted by people.the catalogue produced during the workshop was then the starting point for a masterdegree thesis developed by two students from milan politecnico, who compared these case studies with similar ones in milan.attached herewith, is part of my research about lohmuehle: we stayied there a couple of days, asking people what about the history of the place, the inside organization, the activities promoted and so on.we tried also to understand the construction techniques used to build this beautiful “village”, producing a kind of storybook based on our own feelings.
