EnviroGreen™ System
A New High Performance Synthetic Turf System
1
EnviroGreen™ System
2
Engineered system consisting of: Sub-base layer Recycled foam drainage
and shock absorbing layer Monofilament or slit tape turf
systems Alternative infill choices
3
Sub-base Layer Design requirements:
Provide a stable platform – 95% standard proctor rating Controls the planarity and pitch of the field. 0.5% grade;1/4” per
10’ planarity Scope includes the concrete and perimeter drainage
General Design approach: 4” of soil removal Stabilization of sub-base with lime, recycled concrete or highway
aggregate Non-permeable geotextile liner put on top of stabilized soil 10” perimeter drain system.

Sub-base Layer
Other Design Options Can design a permeable system for alternative water
management. Can design a system with holding capacity for water
management if needed.
7
Drainage and Shock Absorbtion Layer
8
SportDrainMax™ provides drainage and shock absorbtion functionality. Constructed from recycled polyethylene foam Patented drainage channels Product installed across width of field Permeability capacity of 34 gallons/min/ft

Infill Comparison (5 = best)
TPE chosen as the “high end” infill because: EPDM has wear and discoloration issues. PU Coated material does not address the SBR public perception. Coconut husks and walnut shells remain unproven technology. Coated sand perceived to be too abrasive by users.

Environmental BenefitsSystem Element Environmental Factors
Sub-base Layer c Less removal of existing base material saves fuel and disposal impacts, potentially reduces movement of 2700 yards of material for a standard field.
c System can use recycled concrete as a stabilization mechanism.
Drainage Layer i Drainage mat is composed of recycled material and can be used for two cycles of turf.
c Drainage mat can be recycled to alternative uses. Use of mat versus aggregate eliminates movement of 3000 tons of rock.s Installation of mat versus construction of base eliminate the environmental
impact of heavy construction equipment constructing base.c Reduction in the use of non-renewable aggregate resources
Turf n All Sportexe products are produced with non-lead based pigments.d EGS system turf has less weight than traditional systems reducing overall
environmental impact from production through disposal.
Infill p TPE infill eliminates public perception concerns of traditional infills.n TPE is a potentially recyclable material because it is a thermoplastic. Future
technology may allow the reuse of the material thereby reducing disposal costs.

Obtaining LEEDS Credits with EGSSustainable Site The EGS system uses a streamlined best practice construction process to reduce environmental impact.
• Credit 5.1 Reduced Site Disturbance (Protect or Restore Open Space – 1 POINT - SDM • Credit 5.2 Reduced Site Disturbance (Development Footprint) – 1 POINT - SDM • Credit 6.1 Storm Water Management (Rate or Quantity) – 1 POINT - SDM • Credit 6.2 Storm Water Management (Treatment) – 1 POINT- SDM
4 points possible, 1 point likely Water Efficiency EGS can capture water efficiencies.
• Credit 1.1 Water & Efficient Landscaping – Reduce by 50% - 1 POINT – SYSTEM • Credit 1.2 Water Efficient Landscaping – No Potable Water Use or No Irrigation – 1 POINT – SYSTEM • Credit 3.1 Water Use Reduction, reduce by 20% -1 POINT - SYSTEM • Credit 3.2 Water Use Reduction, reduce by 30% - 1 POINT - SYSTEM
4 points possible, 2 points likely Materials & Resource The EGS system uses a significant portion of recycled and recyclable content.
• Credit 2.1 Construction Waste Management – Divert 50% From Disposal – 1 POINT Possible • Credit 3.1 Materials Reuse – 5% - 1 POINT – SDM • Credit 3.2 Materials Reuse – 10% - 1 POINT – SDM • Credit 4.1 Recycled Content – 10% (Post consumer plus ½ pre-consumer) – 1 POINT – SDM • Credit 4.2 Recycled Content – 20% (Post consumer plus ½ pre-consumer) – 1 POINT – SDM • Credit 5.1 Regional Materials – 10% Extracted, Processed & Manufactured Regionally – 1 POINT Possible
(depending on location, infill, SDM, RCC or turf) • Credit 5.2 Regional Materials – 20% Extracted, Processed & manufactured Regionally – 1 POINT Possible
(depending on location, infill, SDM,RCC or turf)
7 points possible – 4 points likely Based on this criteria, the EGS System can assist architects and designers in obtaining up to 15 points toward LEED certification.

Performance Benefits TPE infill alternative can reduce temperatures by
up to 20°F Shock absorption layer provides consistent,
engineered safety layer across entire field. Two part shock absorption layer, (mat and infill),
enables design optimization of safety, (GMax), and playability, (vertical deformation, ball rebound). Firm but safe.

Construction Benefits Reduction of 7 days of base construction time. Elimination of the time and effort required for
base aggregate testing and approval. Elimination of subsequent base drainage
performance concerns.

Cost Effectiveness
SportDrainMax™ base drainage layer will last two turf cycles. Eliminates concerns with base repair or remediation
during replacement of turf. Turf system has lower pile height resulting in:
Yarn savings Infill savings Installation savings
Same turf system savings apply during replacement
