Story:

Born in Kent, Archie was raised well by his parents: both running their own cleaning services company together. They provided him with decent enough opportunities to succeed, which he took.

Archie met Perry in sixth form through Zoe, their friendship took of very quickly: filled with sarcasm and constant back and forth jokes, working off one-another’s gags.

Archie is a relatively smart individual, finishing sixth form with an A in English Literature and English Language. He set his sights on a university degree in English Literature with the aim to become a self-published author. He applied for, and was accepted into, the University of Kent on the English and American Literature and Creative Writing course. Archie struggled in the later years and finished university with a 2:2 degree.

The is however a darker truth to Archie…

During the third year of his course Archie was feeling the pressures of tight deadlines and the heavy workload. This led to him seeking relief for his stresses: weed. This unfortunately was the turning point for him; he was soon introduced

by a seller to Heroin. Realising that this combination was working Archie became extremely reliant on them and was addicted not long after.

Zoe was completely oblivious to his addictions and ultimately never found out. The abuse of the drugs led to Archie developing a psychological condition called Delusional Disorder. He developed the jealousy type where he believes his partner is unfaithful: in this case he thought Zoe was having an affair with Sean. Through this Sean developed severe anger issues and would regularly argue with Zoe. Only Zoe saw this side of Archie and almost ended their relationship because of it. The paranoia lasted for several months as Archie became increasingly more agitated and violent, both verbally and physically.

Archie’s plan was to wait until Sean was next over so he could prove once and for Zoe infidelity until an innocent camping trip, organised by Zoe, became the last straw. Learning that Sean and Perry were invited, Archie’s plan changed when he saw Sean and Zoe in the same tent, setting up the sleeping bags and food. Archie saw something different and, in a blind rage, killed both of them. He then went to the other tent and killed Perry.

Archie developed a second case of Delusional Disorder, triggered by the realisation of what he had done. This disorder was the grandiose type and he created an alternate false world inside his head where the murders didn’t happen. The only thing that was different in this world was that Archie doesn’t exist in it. Instead he assumed the body of Sean, as he believed he was the object of Zoe’s desire. In this world, life carries on blissfully unaware of the passage of time and Archie’s real life world. Archie’s guilty side of his conscious controls the Archie that appears in the false world; seeking to snap the delusional side out of it.
