Archdiocesan Pastoral Council Meeting Notables Archdiocese of Grouard-McLennan February 28, 2015 New APC members from the Cursillo Board and Catholic Family Services brought informaon about who they are and what they do in the Archdiocese. We reviewed the “Terms of Reference” for the APC and the Organizaon Chart of the Archdiocese. We discussed what the principal funcons are of the APC and learned about term lengths and the requirements for selecng representaves from the Archdiocesan councils, commiees and various organizaons. The planning commiee for the Archdiocesan Congress: Church Alive! has nearly completed work on the informaon to be reviewed by the Congress delegates. It will be on the website (hp://archgm.ca) by the middle of March. Archbishop Pepas is commied to connue working towards healing and reconciliaon with our brothers and sisters in First Naons and Més Selements, although the formal TRC will complete its work in June 2015. There will be a closing event in Oawa from May 31 to June 3. Deacon Michael Uso-Ereyi will be ordained to the priesthood on June 24, 2015 at St. John the Bapst Cathedral, McLennan. What we learned…. We encouraged the Archbishop and planning commiee for the Archdiocesan Congress to issue specific, directed invitaons to youth delegates for the Congress. Archbishop Pepas will have the division administraon idenfy four students in HFCRD and GPCSD to be invited. We encouraged more collaboraon between schools and parishes, asking schools to consider how they might share the inspiring and interesng speakers they bring in for their own events with parishes in those communies. What we contributed... The Archdiocesan Pastoral Council is a consultave body for the benefit of the Archbishop of Grouard- McLennan. It is made up of representaves of the clergy, Religious and laity of the Archdiocese. WHAT WE DO Our Members We will be looking for new representaves as terms are ending for some in May 2015 Deaneries 1—5: The Dean and 2 lay representaves from each deanery (see hp:archgm.ca/deaneries/ for deanery lists) Chancery: Officers of the Curia Commiees: 1 representave and 1 alternate from - Finance - Communicaons - Youth - Faith Formaon - Aboriginal Pastoral Schools: 1 representave from - HFCRD - GPCSD Religious Sisters: 1 representave CWL: 1 rep and 1 alternate Knight of Columbus: 1 rep and 1 alt Cursillo Board: 1 representave Catholic Family Services: 1 rep Archbishop’s Designate(s)
