This paper investigates the internal consistency of the eclipse statements and planetary positions given in the Great Epic. Searching the period 500-3000BCE provides only 1493-1443 BCE as the most likely period to which the astronomical observations belong. Historicity of the sky observations indirectly upholds the historicity of story line of the epic.
